Hardtop

Anyone know how much and where to get the hardtop from? I asked my dealership and they wanted like $2k+ and I said no thanks. Anyone know?

That's about what they run, and you'll need the hardtop mounting kit as well.

You occasionally see used ones up for sale, but no one ever wants to ship them. I think someone in Washington state has one, if you fancy a road trip...

If it's $2K for a brand new hardtop you should take it ASAP. BMWUSA has recently raised pricings on a lot of parts, including the hardtop. The few dealers that used to sell the hardtops for $2300~$2400 now sell them for closer to $3K. The dealers that used to sell them for closer to $3k now sell them for closer to $4K.

ebrown was probably talking about me; I'm in WA and I've been trying to sell my hard-top. But yeah shipping to NJ alone costs about $300.

wouldn't u have permanent crease after you take the hardtop off?

cloth top works fine in the winter...its not like hard top provides more insulation against the cold lol

just me, but it looks hella awkward with the hardtop. Car needs to be made a coupe or convertible separately or it looks pretty odd

The hardtop does provide more insulation. It actually very noticibly eliminates a lot of road/wind noise, and the exhausts sound cleaner and quieter when I have the hard-top on; and vice versa.
