any experience with Stebro exhausts?

Hey, I've made an offer on the stainless steel Stebro exhaust for my '07 3.0si coupe... does anyone have any experience with this exhaust? Recommendations, warnings, useless comments are all welcome.

Useless comment: the pics are lovely and that sound clips is so wonderful (to me) that I ordered one several weeks ago myself. Of course, I only did so after reviewing all the other products they offer, and what seems like nothing but glowing feedback from their customers. Sadly, no reviews on the Z4 yet. I'm not expecting any performance upgrade (don't expect any gains...) but am undertaking this as a purely cosmetic (aural) mod.

So far I haven't received it and I was told there would be a wait as they were shipping over from Europe (to Canada) and then it would be shipped on to me. This was about 2 weeks ago. Still waiting. Not sure how I feel about that story either if you know what I mean.

Also, they will sell these for dirt cheap if you use the 'make an offer' button! I was surprised when they accepted my offer.

Yea I communicated with them and it seems that shipping would take at least two weeks... there's a guy on Bimmerforums who should have his installed this week and I'm currently awaiting his review...

I'm sending you a PM about the eBay offer...

Oh yea... customs is a bitch (europe to canada... canada to US) and that is probably the #1 reason it takes so long...

ordered one of these too....

i'll post some video as soon as i get it installed. Cheapest option i could find.... just couldn't justify spending $800-$1000 on a rear can. Gotta hurry though if you want one of the cheap ones. As of this morning they only had 4 of these "display" units left. After that they go back up to $750.00.

Yup... ordered one yesterday actually, should expect it in 2-3 weeks. I posted on Bimmerforums as well and it seems two others have also ordered the same exhaust... so look for install threads over there.. I'll keep everyone updated, if there's interest, in a few weeks.

has anyone recieved theirs yet?

last i heard from them (a few days after the auction) they projected that it would be arriving sometime towards the end of this week. They have been very responsive to email questions, etc in the past, but I emailed a couple days ago for an update and haven't heard anything back from them yet on confirming the delivery time.

just curios if anyone has had any further correspondance with them in the last week or so.

I had contact with them this past week via email... my exhaust is currently on a truck somewhere in St.Louis and will be delivered today...

There's a guy on bimmerforums that just got his a day or two ago and posted a video, might want to check it out.

got mine put on too...

my wife is pissed! hahaha.

nearly silent at 80mph. boomy as F around town, but good. Its hard not to be when you are sitting on top of the muffler. haha.

my biggest issue is that i've got an auto, so when it shifts into the higher gears when you are just rolling at 30-40mph through town it gets kind of drony. I'm doubting this would be any different at all with anything else. If i hit the sport button and keep the revs up, it is nearly indestinguisable. I'll have to sort that one out somehow.

regardless i'm happy with how it sounds/looks. for $425.00 I don't think I could have done any better unless I lowballed them to $375 like some people have.. haha.

daaamn... $425 with shipping included? I thought my $450 was as low as you could go! Sweet deal.

and yea... the exhaust sounds great, deep and aggresive, a bit boomy around 2k... highly recommended.

I just received mine, but it looks nothing like the one they show on their website or on ebay. The one on ebay has the two tips pretty much dead center in the can, whereas on mine it's located on the left side. Mine looks about right for the Z4, but I just wanted to check with current owners. Did your mufflers look like the one in the pictures?

The one I received also looks a bit different from the one someone else got too (http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/8412/bmw371bg4.jpg). The tips on his have perforations on the inside (mine are solid), and his hanger on the right side looks to be mounted higher than the one on mine.

Mine also has no mention of Stebro on the can at all (no logo like in the picture).

Not to mention, the tips on mine look huge. They measure 3.5" in diameter each. Can someone who also have this exhaust measure their tips for comparison?

Just a tad bit worrisome...
