Eisenmann Sport Exhaust on Z4M, anyone??

Hi guys,

I've done the internal exhaust mod and to be honest I'm not really loving it
I absolutely love the cold start noise and the very deep noise under load up to 3000rpm, volume is perfect, then between 3000-4000rpm there is a nice rasp, kind of like a CSL. But then after that it sounds awful It just sounds a bit, rapsy, farty and waspy, cheapens the car and loses the character. There is also an annoying whistling noise. I would rate is 9.5 out of 10 in terms of raspiness, which is not what I was hoping to achieve. I was just wanting a deeper and louder note.

Anyway, I used to have a Eisenmann Sport on my E61 550i and it was perfect in terms of volume and note. I've listened to lots of videos online, but you can never tell properly, therefore I wondering if anyone on here has first hand experience of the sport (not race) system. As mentioned above, I do not want raspy.

I think the Remus system might suit my needs best in terms of the sound I want to achieve, perhaps just not loud enough though.

Here's a few pics of my internal exhaust mod.

Have you looked at Stromung as an exhaust? I have it and it's deep. Louder/deeper than Remus but slightly quieter than Eisenmann, which sounds great in person. I believe I heard the Sport version. Can't go wrong with either, just depends how deep and loud you want it. There is a thread on here that compares decible levels of all types of combinations.

Thanks for that Sounds like it's just what I'm after and the taili-pipes look nice. Will have a look at the clips tonight on youtube

Problem could be supply in the UK though.

Had a listen online, Stromung definitely sounds nice and deep, just what I'm looking for I'm worried the Eisenmann may be a little raspy. Plus it's more expensive.

Where did you buy yours from?

I bought mine from VAC Motorsports when they had their 10% off sale (happens often). I know that there was a group buy not too long ago for the Stromung exhaust in the for sale section. Take a look there, they also come up used every now and again, could get a decent deal on one. Sucks about the shipping to EU though

I've posted videos on youtube of my car in idle and driving with Stromung and RE Xpipe. Just did headers but haven't gone for a drive yet.

Eisenmann Race experience

I put Eisenmann Race cans on my 06 Z4M roadster with ESS V2500 and no other mods ....decent low tone.....no/insignificant rasp in my opinion.....and I think actually too quiet with no worry for being ticketed. Like it significantly better than stock.....but would not mind some more volume and looking for ways to do that without spending huge amounts or messing with ESS tune.

US and EU cars are not really comparable noise wise as the US cars have catalytic converters on the exhaust manifolds which the EU cars do not. So the same set of rear exhausts will probably sound different on either car...

If you still have the stock catted headers, swapping to Euro headers would give you all the volume you want... and then some...
