Memory Seats Not Working?!?!

Hey guys, I realized today that my memory seats dont work anymore, at first i thought maybe it just lost it's memory cause I lost power or something but I tried re-programming it and it still doesn't work. Luckily nothing changed in my configuration, anyone know what might be up? Thanks

Seats and mirrors work perfectly, just the memory function isn't working. 2 Month old car with a loose harness//blown fuse? Where do I find the fuse? Thanks

Sorry to miss lead.... if seats are working then it's not a fuse.

yep, mos def sounds like a circuit/module that's defective.

my M Coupe is only 6 weeks old and has been in for warranty work three times already and is scheduled for a fourth one this week. (not counting the first oil change/inspection)

are you referring to the key memory, or the preset buttons on the side of your seat?

I was always under the impression that the keys were numbered. Meaning that depending on the key you are using, would depend on the memory button that needed to be programed or button pushed.

I might try setting the memory on the seat for 1 all the way forward and set position 2 for all the way back with the key you are using, then put the seat in a mid position and then verify which key you have, and go from there. If still a no go, it would most likely be the module.

I really dont understand the key memory thing anyone care to explain?

One key is #1, one key is #2------------- key #1 works with m1 key #2 works with m2

If you set things up like I suggested you would then know which key #1-#2 you are using and then be able to set the correct m1-m2 position for that key.

Sorry if I am not explaining it very well.

Seriously? Each key only pertains to ONE memory button? But how come in my old 330 I could set a different seat position with all 3 buttons? And originally I set it to M1 and it worked perfectly, I just dont see why it would suddenly stop working? Does the whole key matching memory # thing mean that it will auto adjust when I use a certain key? I'm still lost but I will go do what you said.

It works again! Not sure what fixed it, i got back today and figured I'd try it again and it works. Dont know what caused it or what fixed it but I'm glad it's working again.

On a side note while flipping through the manual to see if I could find anything on the memory seats I saw that car can be set to move the seat to your memory position when you unlock it? I tried this twice with mine by moving the seat away from my M1 position and locking and unlocking but the seat didn't auto move like I was expecting. Does this feature need to be activated by the dealer perhaps?

Thanks everyone for helping me troubleshoot the problem also.

Yep, that needs to be set by the dealer.
