New Z4MC Owner in Toronto
Hi everyone, I have been lurking on this website since feb, I just want to officially introduce myself and share a few pics. It took me awhile to find the right car (much harder than I thought), but I have finally found one and took possession last week .
Coming from a G35C, I was originally debating between a 335, z4m and cayman S. Test drove all 3, Cayman had the best handling of the 3 and most confidence inspiring in the corners. But overall, z4m was the most exciting by far and that alone sold me. Also, z4m is so much more rarer in toronto, the amount of attention I am getting driving this thing around town and especially at the gas station is unbelievable!!! It is an 06 with only 26,000km on it and all options except extended leather. It also comes some extra goodies, the previous owner put in custom suede along the door panels and the pillers, I think it really improves the look of the interior. So far I have painted the grill and repainted the eisenmann since it was starting to rust inside the tips. Will definitely get more mods down the road, but I going to try to pace myself. thanks for reading, |

Nice. Your trajectory seems typical here - Cayman S, 335 variant (I prefer the is), M coupe. I agree with your conclusions, including the handling of the Cayman S...spectacular. However, as you point out, not as exciting, not as unique - in fact, rather ubiquitous (not as much as a Boxster, but still). I had a Z4MC before this one (dealer wrecked it) but I really was ALMOST swayed by the Cayman S...
However, ultimately the greater challenger to me was the 1M coupe. However, with the dealer mark-ups and limited supply I again became an M coupe owner - and could not be more happy! Wow, you are brave repainting the exhaust! The rust would not come out? P.S. Love the alcantara interior!

Congrats on the Z4M!!! I go to Toronto a few times a years (cousins up there) and people up there love their sports cars. Good import scene. I'm sure you'll be getting a lot of people looking at your car.

Awww so you took over Anthony's mcoupe. This car originally had everything from Volks rims, suspensions, shorter ratio diff, groupem intake, aero side, recaro, omp steering wheels etc.
I think it was traded in to a dealer w only muffer and coilsovers and rims. This car rarely has seen the roads. The ex owner drives gt3 rs now. |

Welcome and congratulations! That's my favorite color!
I've been able to get the interior of the Eisenmann back to gleaming with some very fine steel wool. |

CongratZ & welcome.
Nice to see the number of new coupe owners. We should be able to have some great meets.

As Jason Plato said "a blue car is a cool car". Or was that "a filthy car is a cool car"? Well, mine needs a wash and it is blue so it must be cool too.
In any case, welcome and congratulations on the great machine! Now go get it dirty!

thanks everyone!!
mpower1226, I think you are right about the history of the car. I brought the car from a sales manager at a bmw dealership who brought it after it was traded in arnd Oct last year. But the guy has 2 kids and I guess he didn't get to drive it that much either so he put it up for sale again recently. He told me the original owner went on and brought porsche turbo, could just be mistaken between the 2 models. The guy didn't even know what kind of coilover was on the car until I checked it out. It's too bad the original owner is not on this board, would love to chat with him, I wonder what else was done to the car originally and might still be on the car. For example the shift to second gear is very smooth compared to the other z4m i test drove, wonder if he did the cdv delete. Also, it's kinda weird how my xenon lights are always on even if I switch the light switch to position 0, is that normal? I thought the daytime lights are the lamps closer to the grill which never lights up no matter which position i have it in?? costa316, congrat on the new car, post some pics when you get a chance. I am pleasantly surprised at how many mcoupe we have around the gta, I have only seen maybe 2 in the last couple of years. But then again, I live in the downtown core. I am definitely going to attend some the meets and hopefully track days as well next year, look forward to meeting some of you locals |

The Xenon are used for DRL. The inner light is just a dummy lens, no light behind it. You'll also notice that the inner & outer halo rings are different.

Welcome to the GTA Zcommunity.
You'll find the coupes are very rare in these parts. In fact I find them rarer and rarer. The summer of 2009 and 2010 I saw at least 4 or 5 a month (and once drove tandem with one which was quite fun). This year I have only come across 2 all summer. I recently drove my Z4C in the financial district at rush hour and it turned a great deal of heads. |

I was curious to see your Alcantara; looks great. It's really hard to get a good picture of this stuff. It always looks x1000 better IRL. I did some interior work on a previous car & have the material to do some work over the winter.
