the cig lighter is a secondary one and have 30 amp and not just the 15 amp that ours have I kept the oem one in same place. because was my first install on the Z4 it took me around 4 hours (but after all was apart, dash etc then I just had to plug my system in and I was done) instal is not hard, take the car in pieces and not brake anything that is nothing other then slow and careful. |

put my code = turn key to ACC Press the button once = Start the car Press the button again = shut the car down press the button without pressing the clutch (before it runs) = turn key to ignition I could had gone different routes, I sold and install this for a guy in texas and his work different. The lock code cut fuel pump if installed, Ignition kill (can't hotwire), Starter kill (can't hotwire) and takes the immobilizer out on sync (can't hotwire) the unlock code undo all the above. I don't have anything showing outside my door it is an invisible type switch goes inside the door, when I leave the car I just touch on that place (like the mirror cover example) when I come back I will touch there again but in a certain sequence like touch-touch pause touch or something like that. Also I can activate that feature or deactivate using the keypad in case I don't feel safe or something. also after you enter your car using the magic point in the door it goes off so no one can come and do the same to try to get to you in your car. put the lock code is like taking your keys out of the car. the keypad does not open or close the door, I had the keypad custom from ESSEx just for this project, and yes it's patented. |

the keypad is just a tool to insert the numbers the brain is the module and is no way to make the module work without the keypad or even trying to use other keypad, each one is encrypted to work with each other. |

Also I forgot to mention that the system will not void warranty since you are not cutting anything, well besides the dash trim.
The dash cutout was the hardest thing on the instal since I have the carbon leather if it was other one it should be much easier to cut the hole. |

Well you've done a hell of a job! I remember reading some of your posts while you were asking about "keyless Comfort Access", and you've come a long way. I did see the video with the Pickup Truck also, nice work on the Patent.

Nice. How do you keep the batteries in the keys charged? Looks like you replaced the ignition cylinder (which charges the keys) with a 12V power outlet?

The key is dismounted and assembled inside the module and the charge is not needed, in mine it does not need to charge, but it has other ways to be done as well in case you want your keys not dismounted.

This is awesome! Great work
Would it be possible to keep the factory key cylinder (for charging the key, and easily returning to stock)? Or to even keep everything functioning as stock - but require a code input to start the car (yes, I'm thinking of the first Transporter movie )?

Yes for all questions, nothing that I did on my car is irreversible, all plug and play, so unplug everything and install EZ-Key, then when you don't want anymore plug your stuff back, no damages were made to the car, only thing I would need new is the dash trim, and the sunglass thing. also I have a insert on the side of my module to recharge the other key in case I need.

FIY The cylinder don't charge the key, the ring around the cylinder does that.

Other thing I forgot to mention is that the new socket for the cig lighter only start working after the car crank and the starter run so I don't pull to much of my battery charge since is a 30A output.
