Yup, after installing the Euro header I installed the secondary O2 sensors behind the secondary cats. I had problems initally when the shop I used cut the wires to extend them. I repalced both sensors and just unfolded the wiring harness out to length and it has been running great with no CEL!

I have gathered that, as of now, your sim makes the car run like it is supposed to with the headers, but it still has an SES light. Thank you for offering an alternative to a $1000 tune!
Unfortunately no updates. UPS screwed up pretty bad and I've been out of town for a month which delayed fixing their screw up.

The problem with relocating the O2s is that it wont go over well if you ever want to return the car to stock and sell it. On a trade in or private sell, they're going to want to replace the cut up and modified 2nd cat which can cost at least a grand or two.

I don't know if I'm keeping the car for a long time or not so sims are the best option for me as they'll probably save me a lot of money down the road.

Good news guys - I installed the latest O-Cha sim. I haven't had any time to get the code cleared because I've been very very busy but after a few hundred miles, the code cleared itself and hasn't come back! No more SES light, no codes, It's working flawlessly! The engine seems a little happier too.

Really? That's great, maybe I won't be removing my headers after all. I'll have to get in touch with O-cha about replacing my sim with the new one.

That's good news, Reason to be optimistic at this point but not certain. It's hard to nail this one down just yet. I still haven't gotten the code to come back on mine and you got yours so quickly and repeatedly that I think there might be considerable car to car variance.

Nate I'll send send one to you when after a bit of feedback from darkstar but keep in mind while you had the code that we are talking about you also had codes that indicate a bad O2 sensor and should not be there.

Ok, however you think works best. I have a new o2 sensor that I was planning to install when I removed the headers and the sim, going back to stock. Obviously would be much easier to replace the sensor and the new sim if you thought that would solve the issue. I could go ahead and do the sensor replacement now if you think that would be a better diagnostic with the new sim. Let me know. Thanks

p.s. keep in mind I drive the car ~300 miles a week highway so I'm a good source for feedback on this

Any updates on this? I'd really like to move forward on either removing my headers and the non-functioning sim or replacing it with a working one. I'm getting annoyed staring at the ses light.

I'm going to be trying out Ebay headers soon (since some of my E46 M3 friends have them installed with success). Is there any update for this sim? I tried PM-ing O-Cha, but haven't received a reply as of yet

Time and mileage is what's needed, I don't want there to be any more issues, but its getting there.

I've put over 6000 miles on the original sim design. Would love to get my hands on the new one ASAP

Darkstar just let me know that the codes come back from time to time but then reset themselves ~100 miles later. It means a step in the right direction but not there yet.

The reason I'm only working with one person is it's difficult to make prototypes, but once it's hammered down one will go straight to you.

Going to get some more components.

Could I join in the testing phase as well perhaps at cost? I'm truly interested, as I already ordered my Ebay headers, and I've already installed on an S54 motor before, so I'm probably going to get this installed as soon as I can. But, I'd need the peace of mind to get the car running right afterwards

So, its been like a month and a half, any update? I'm going to be taking my car in for service fairly soon and I really want the code cleared before I do. Its either going to have to be the new sim or removal of the old along with the headers.

No and I think darkstars planning on getting a flash. It's an extremely difficult thing to do remotely without my tools, so I think without someone local I won't do it. Don't want to put anyone else through the frustration.

Garage List
that sucks, continue to update please. i'd like to get headers in the future but alot of it depends on this mod. i know AA just released a tune for the n52 (not expecting huge gains but if this is something they can incorporate, then it might be worth it...)

I got the ESS flash but asked them to not disable the O2s so I'm still tinkering with the sim. I've got an idea of how to get it so the readings are just right, I just have to tweek the sim and clear codes every other week until I find that magic setting. It's a long process but I'll let you guys know once I hit 1000 miles with no codes.

The SIM definintely has a role. But so far no CEL after relocating O2 sims behind secondary cats.

Pm me the codes you are still getting, are you swinging between the two?
