AWESOME! You talked to sam right? I believe l4zy is going in today. I still can't believe the top end on this car after the tune! Last night my buddy drove my car and was impressed as well. He had a z4m coupe b4 trading in for a ls3 c6. His major gripe w/ the z4m was the top end. He was all smiles after the test drive
I'll be going to the 1/8th track again on thurs for possibly more concrete results. I believe my 100 oct may have slowed down my car. I recently refilled w/ 91 and it seemed to have woken up again. Possibly b/c it never had a chance to change maps in the 10 miles that I drove it from gas station to track. The reason I had put in 100oct was b/c I had intended on spraying a 75 shot, and being that it was the first time on the bottle since the tune, I didn't want to take any chances. Besides I was challenged by a cayman s to meet at the track!

I've read that 100+ octane can reduce the power in our cars. 100 octane is less volatile than 91, and burns more slowly. Changes in timing and spark only go so far, and there is a point of diminishing returns. Some say it's around 96 octane. This is all a regurgitation of what I've read on the internet, so there's no way it could be wrong

Finally got my tune today! I couldn't really tell the difference when I first left the shop but a few hours later I started noticing power being more readily available. Gotta get more time behind the wheel before I can say much about the tune. I still haven't unplugged the battery or reset the throttle adaptation. Anyone know how to do the throttle adaptation reset?

and about the 100 oct...my first 2 runs were extremely slow at 8.8 @ 82 and 8.7 @ 81 and then the third run I hit 8.4 @ 85. The first 2 runs were my all time slowest and then on the third run my top end opened up(it was to the point that I checked my nitrous fuel lines for leaks). I wouldn't doubt that the 100oct was to blame for this. Not to mention my 91 oct felt even better I think they said it was along the lines of a couple hundred miles before the dme can tune for the gas. That means I would have to run the 100 oct for a couple tanks..no thanks

Actually I have! I've been redlining it since I left the shop! I'm kinda embarrassed to say but it still just feels insane. Then again I felt like I was getting used to the acceleration since the AutoX on Sunday, but now it feels insane again. So maybe it did make a difference

But don't worry, just give it some more time, and try all the resets as suggested. Only time will tell Too bad you didn't do a "before" and "after" dyno. I'm curious to see what others have gotten thus far, with just the tune. I gained a good amount on paper. Well, iono if I can call it a gain. It was more like delaying the drop-off of torque, which yielded higher peak HP.... kind of like more aggressive gearing..it doesn't give you any gains per se, but you're definitely faster lol |

got back from the track...wow I was hitting 8.4* @ 86mph n/a and 8.2* @ 91mph on the bottle w/a consistent crappy 2.1 60'. I should've been hitting 7.9 on the bottle w/ that trap and decent tires
that's an increase of 2mph n/a and 2-3mph increase on the bottle. Definitely pulls through redline a lot harder as you can see in the trap and nitrous only amplifies the tunes effect Also went head to head (sort of) w/ the cayman s. his best time of the night was 8.89 @ 79 For comparison there was a whole group of the new 5.0's in autos(they're faster and more consistent) they were consistently hitting 8.6 @ 86 mph and a guy on DR and boltons/tune hit 8.2 @ 86. a 335i auto on jb1 and intake was running 8.5 @ 83 I'm happy w/ the results and hanging up the 1/8th for a while
