how many gallons of saphire black is needed to paint a roadster with a hard top?

less than 1 gallon easy... You could almost do 3 coats with one gallon..

Bro our cars from factory are painted with 1 gallon. Why are u painting it? If it has bad swirls bro u can get it wet sanded or re-cleared for a much lower price than repainting to whole thing. Plus im pretty close by man. A some clay, swirl x, and meguiars with a buffer should take care of it.

If you're going to all the work to get it repainted, carbon black????..... I mean, if you like it as a color, you'd have one of two CB Z4Ms in NA...just a thought....

Get carbon black. One roadster and one coupe in North America came from the factory in carbon black. It's a pain to keep clean and shows scratches easily, but it's worth it IMHO.

Even though my car is silver gray and it would be a huge PITA, I know that if I ever had to repaint it would be carbon black, hands down. I love the Monaco Blue, couldn't find one when I was looking for a Z4M. Carbon Black to me is like a darker version of MB, and the one coupe with CB looks just awesome...
