ABS Failed
Guys... any experience in this?
My ABS brakes failed, meaning the instrument panel show "ABS", "BRAKE", "(!)" and "DSC symbol" are lit up in yellow. Sometimes it goes away, but it is a recurring problem. Manual says for me to drive conservatively and go to the dealer asap. Dealer seemed to have fixed the problem, but only for a few hours. So the lights came on again and I am quite tired of going in and out of the dealer. They said that they replaced the ABS sensor... Other than that, they were pretty good actually... giving me a new convertible roof to replace the rear defroster and stuff. Any idea what is going on? |

My ABS light went on in my '04 3.0 and the dealer fixed it and it never came on again. Take it back Rocky, there is still a problem.

Sorry to bump this old thread... but.. I'm having the same problem. Any ideas?
Also, I have read a few threads on other forums saying that ABS related issues aren't covered by BMW warranty? is that true? |

ABS issues are covered, what isn't covered in Canada is replacement brake rotors and pads, unless you have purchased the wear item maintenance coverage.

I had an ABS module go out last year on my 06 Z4MC and it displayed the same symptoms with the addition of the speedometer not working at all and the car would go into "limp" mode if you pushed the revs too high. I took it to the dealer and the module was replaced under warranty.

FYI, your car still can brake without ABS. Car brakes are designed to work even if your ABS is not working. |
