Error Codes Help!
I've been trying to figure out my airbag issues for over 2 years now. Started with the install of 2008 M Sport seats in my 2005. I've installed a bypass, replaced the seat belt receptacles, cleared all the codes and the light will come on immediately after they are cleared. Something is triggering it and the codes are completely confusing to me. I did a search but the codes don't come up anywhere. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I had an issue with airbag light which was caused by increased resistance in a connection causing decreased voltage tripping a "error" code. The BMW tech isolated and cleaned the connector which cleared the fault. The connector was the one in the battery compartment (single connector) to the left of the battery looking forward. Clean with electrical cleaner/blow dry and clear your codes and see what happens. I'd also clean the connectors under your seat as well if that doesn't work. I would also check the wiring you did and ensure that its wired correctly and is doing what it's supposed to do. You could be introducing an error condition as a result.

Have you taken it to a reputable shop with an Autologic and see what gives?

I do. I'm still a noob working with INPA and DIS. I will follow that path and see where it takes me.
Not yet, but not far from it. I have a couple shops near by that are good. Will give this a few more shots, then throw in the towel. |
