2007 Z4M Coupe, Interlagos, 47k miles
Due to a growing family and already extremely limited recreational time I’ve decided that it’s time to entertain the idea of selling my 2007 Z4 M Coupe. Apologies in advance for the lengthy ad but I want to be as thorough as possible. That said, I'm sure I've forgotten some things. I purchased the car from BMW Tulsa in May 2012 with 36,700 miles on it and had it shipped to Southern California where it has spent the last five years. At the time of purchase I intended to keep the car forever for all of the reasons everyone on this board already knows. The car has not been a daily driver nor has it seen any inclement weather and has always been parked in a garage, clean and covered on a battery tender. During my tenure it has not been driven on track but has done two autocross events (one on the tires included with the stock wheels and one on the tires currently installed with the Apex wheels). It currently has 47,410 miles on it and this shouldn't go up significantly. Considering that the reason for the sale is a lack of time to enjoy the car I've decided to test the waters selling it as is. I know that an unmodified car is more desirable and I can make more money parting it out but if I don't have time to drive it I certainly don't have time to part it out and deal with the hassle of shipping everything right now. If I have no interest and become more motivated to sell in the future I may do a part-out. In the meantime, anyone is welcome to PM for dibs on parts if that ever happens but I don't intend to sell anything currently. I enjoy the car too much in its current configuration on the rare occasion that I'm able to take it for more than a warm-up drive. MECHANICAL An oil analysis was performed at it’s second interval during my ownership and showed no signs calling for concern due to the low mileage on the oil. I have not put a significant amount of mileage on the car annually since that oil change so I have not done another oil analysis but I will be doing one at it’s next annual oil change in September if I am still in possession of the car at that time. The last several years I have performed all services roughly according to the Mike Miller Schedule. Previously, during my ownership, the car was taken to La Jolla Independent. I have receipts and records for nearly all maintenance and modifications performed during my ownership which will be included with the sale. Details can be seen below and in the pictures and I will gladly furnish any specific records anyone wishes to see. All service is up to date and the only thing I would do (and will if I continue to own the car for any significant period of time) is a peace-of-mind valve adjustment and vanos inspection simply because I do not have a record of one being performed at the 30,000 miles interval (I’ve inquired about service records at the dealer and was told that they have records from new to about 26,000 miles but no record of an Inspection 1). At the time of the last inspection in September the brake pads had 8mm front/7mm rear remaining, the rotors were 26.7mmRF, 26.8mm LF, 19.6mmRR, 19.4mmLR and the tires had 6mm front/5mm rear remaining. MODIFICATIONS I have modified the car with an emphasis on tasteful, subtle OEM-plus-type mods. I’ve tried not to do anything too flashy and I think I’ve succeeded because my wife has been completely stumped after each thing I’ve done. The first modification after purchase was the swapping of the saddle color interior (door cards & power, heated [but heat not hooked up] seats) and Maritime Dash from my 3.0si coupe. There’s a bit of a story involved with that that I’ll be happy to share with interested parties. This is the only modification that cannot be reversed immediately because the original parts (black/carbon leather) went with the non-M coupe. Interior modifications: -saddle seats and door cards -Maritime dash and console trim -ZHP shift knob -custom black/silver dot/orange M pedals -black/orange dot Coco mats Exterior modifications: -APR carbon fiber front splitter with support rods -Tekarbon carbon fiber mirrors (not covers) -OEM BMW carbon fiber rear lip -carbon fiber grill surrounds -painted corner lights -stubby antenna -OEM Aero side skirts Original skirts, antenna, unpainted corner lights, Interlagos mirror covers and grills are included. Suspension and wheel modifications: -Dinan strut brace -TC Klein Smart Design Double Adjustable Coilovers & Camber Plates with 400# front/500# rear springs -Hyper Black APEX ARC-8 18x9.5et35 18x10et25 & lug stud conversion -Michelin Pilot Super Sport 255/35/18 & 275/35/18 Everything was aligned and corner balanced at the time of installation, approximately 8,000 miles ago. All stock pieces are included. Drivetrain modifications: -Evolve carbon fiber airbox, spare air filter, & Evolve tune. A five-pin connector was added to the MAF wiring harness to facilitate easy changes between MAF (stock) and IAT (CF airbox) sensors. See picture below. -OEM M3 CSL Euro headers -OEM Z4M Euro cats. The O2 sensors were rerouted to the Euro cat locations without cutting. See picture below. -Stromung exhaust -UUC short shifter -CDV delete -Dimple magnetic engine, transmission & differential drain plugs All stock pieces are included. ACCESSORIES -Three keys (2 fully functional standard keys and one plastic emergency key) -OEM BMW fitted cover in excellent condition. -OEM manuals -Evolve tuning cable -Custom spare wheel cover that includes OEM M3 spare wheel/tire (purchased for my previous non-M and fits only the rear due to brake clearances), OEM jack, torque wrench and socket, tire plug kits, tools necessary to remove front bumper in the even that a tow is necessary, Gerber flashlight, tire pressure gauge. I like to be prepared - none of this has ever been used and the list is just off the top of my head so an item or two may have been missed. Pics are included below. COSMETICS I do my best to maintain the car cosmetically as well as I do mechanically. As stated above, the car is always parked in a garage, clean and covered. I use spray detail with only new towels after every drive before it is put away. If the car has any more than a very light coating of dust it gets hand washed at home using only new towels and wash mitts. The paint is sealed and waxed annually and is in very nice condition but it does have some very light swirls that could be polished out. I'm a perfectionist but, since this is a car and it gets driven, I also don't want to do paint correction so often that the clearcoat wears thin. The wheels are removed at least annually to be cleaned and waxed front and back, the tires regularly get an application of ExtremeBlack and all rubber and plastic trim receives a regular coat of 303 Protectant. The interior, though never dirty, gets vacuumed a couple of times a year and the leather is cleaned and conditioned at least annually. Ungloved hands have not touched the steering wheel or shift knob during my ownership. The dash and console trim are waxed annually using Gerlitz Carnauba Guitar Wax. I would say that the only issue someone may have with the car is that there has been some paint work due to an unfortunate broken garage door incident that caused the chain to fall across the car and damage ONLY THE PAINT on the roof, the panel above the door and the rear quarter panel. There was no body damage and I can furnish pictures of the damage to potential buyers. I attempted to have a satisfactory repair done in order to retain the factory paint but, alas, paintwork was necessary. I was very picky and returned the car immediately after repair because I wasn't satisfied with the orange peel and a year later had the job completely redone because I wasn't happy with it. This repaint was done at no charge by the same shop under the careful supervision of the very apologetic owner (and with a free rental car and refund of my insurance deductible). In the several years since the paint has not aged a bit and looks perfect. The chain also put a small chip in the windshield so that was replaced as well. A clean CARFAX that I pulled shortly after the repairs is shown in the picture of the maintenance binder. SALE DETAILS There are some very minor imperfections around the car and for this reason, to make sure everyone is happy, I will insist that if the car is bought sight-unseen and shipped that a walk around Facetime conversation take place. I have conducted similar transactions in the past and want to ensure that everyone is thoroughly informed to avoid any unpleasantness. There is a lien on the car simply because the interest rate on my loan is too good to bother with an early payoff. However, for a serious buyer depending on timelines if it is advantageous for me to pay the car off to attempt to obtain the title sooner I'll do my best to work with the buyer. I will happily assist with shipping if necessary, though local pickup would be preferred due to all of the stock parts that are included. They will not fit in the car so other arrangements would have to be made. I'm pricing the car at $38,500 as it sits with all stock parts included. I'm pretty firm on the price because I think it's fair and because I'm not in any great hurry to part with the car. I would be willing to remove modifications and renegotiate the price if that were the desire of the buyer. I would also be willing to consider returning the car to stock with the exception of the interior, rear lip spoiler and short shift kit if that were the preference of the buyer. I'm on here regularly so I'll try to check and bump this occasionally but inquiries may also be made to itdnwiwbp at gmail dot com.

What an awesome example of a great car, tastefully modified and what seems to be really good condition Z4M! I bought a similar car, without seeing in person, from a fellow member a couple months ago and am thankful for sellers who take the time to provide records and work with potential buyers to ease any concerns.
That saddle brown and blue combo makes me go all Owen Wilson WAOW. GLWS! |

There are 2 things that are bothering me about this thread...
1. Why the hell didn't I think to put a full size spare in the trunk? 2. Why the hell is OP selling this car? Take it to the grave! |

Wow. And I thought I had a clean IB Z4MC. This one takes the cake.
Good luck with the sale.

That is a nice looking car, I'm not sure about the teak and holly deck (I am a boat guy and that looks great on a cabin sole), having said that it is sweet.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I'll admit I felt a little bit sick right after I clicked the post button last night. I certainly wouldn't call myself a motivated seller - my wife doesn't even seem to be on board. I know I'll miss it and I know I'll regret it but I'll just see what happens in the next couple months.
Oh, and I believe the dash is mahogany and maple. Definitely not everyone's taste but it's the reason I got in a Z4 in the first place.

I'm actually considering wrapping my interior trim pieces with dark brown leather as a contrast to the extended beige in my coupe. Perhaps a matching leatherz console and door armrests in the same dark brown.

What a great looking car. The blue over saddle looks great. The maritime wood is very unique, it really stands out, I'm guessing it's the only z4MC in existence with it. Are you a boat enthusiast?

Thanks again, everyone. I believe the dash and console trim were originally purchased on eBay and may still be available there. My understanding is that the Maritime Mahogany trim for Z4s was an individual option only in Germany. I don't know that for sure but it's what I've been told. The original owner (of the interior, not the car) is an occasional contributor to Roundel (at least the last time I read it, been a couple years). He swapped the Aluminum trim for the Maritime in his 3.0si coupe before upgrading to an IB M coupe. When I saw his 3.0si for sale I fell in love with the interior and knew I had to buy the car when I found out how rare it is.
Thanks for the bumps, guys. Here's some more car porn:

Good luck with the sale! Didn't expect to see this car on here, but when I saw it a year or so ago it looked great. Seemed like a great owner too from that experience.
