TPMS Sensors

Learned somthing new today... Had a flat tire today because I need new tires, needless to say I have new tires, and my new 19inch wheels will be here in 3 weeks. The tire was not repairable so I had to buy a used tire... so 70.00 later I'm all set.(timing could not be worse!!! ) But here is what I learned... this entire time I have been told by several people I needed new TPMS sensors or I could just use my old ones for my new wheels, but turns out I don't even have them... Apparently A few 2005 and 2006 BMW's did not have them. The system runs off of suspension and brake readings? atleast thats what the tire guy said. Anyway heres my question, if I get new 19's will the car not read the new wheel correctly and cause the tire pressure light to stay on? If so what should be done then?

thanks in advance...

If your car doesn't use sensors, then it's just relying on the ABS system to tell the difference in rotational speed between the different tires. It only knows if ONE of your tire is different from the rest, but cannot tell if all 4 tires are low.

In your case, just a "reset" of the system should be enough for the new wheels. Resetting the system should have it re-calibrate for the new wheels.
