Z4 coupe none M?

hey guys,

Just dropping in here to ask a question
Yesterday i spotted a white Z4 coupe, but it was not an M.
I know the M's coupes are rare(1500 copys for the Usa market?)
This was a 3.0l with single exhaust pipe out the back....
Was this offered in USA or it was a model from Canada/Mexico that i saw?

Thanks

They are slightly more common than M coupes, at least going off the production numbers I have seen.

They were available in the USA & Europe. First one I ever saw in person was on display at the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. A few have been imported into Canada.

There was also a much rarer, alpine Coupe, before the M was released.

"This was a 3.0l with single exhaust pipe out the back"

Shoud've had a dual tipped exhaust if it was still OEM.

I am sure he meant single exit exhaust instead of the dual exit exhaust of the M models...

Alpina themself say they never made one (not listed in their model history).
So he's probably confused with acs, hamannn, hartge or so. They have done coupés

No I am not confused, but thank you for the offer.

Actually yes I am confused : D

Must have been late, it's a bored and stroked 3.4 alpine roady, though I am certain I read somewhere this also came in a coupe iteration. (Before the M was produced)

Yes, non-M has a single exit dual tip exhaust, M has dual exit dual tip exhausts (for a total of 4 tips).

You are talking about tips, I am talking exhaust exits. They are slightly different things

OK, a bit more searching produced 2090 3.0si coupes in North America...

This means a manual 3.0 coupe must be significantly more rare in the US vs M coupes.... Maybe ~1200? vs 1815.

No wonder its hard to find them...

I believe they are as rare as the z4m coupe and not around 1200 because as stated above there were a few imported to Canada which should keep the numbers floating above 1800

Im searching for manual transmissions only, and it feels like of the 2090, maybe even less than half are manuals. I was more refering to my potential pool of North american Z4 non-M coupes with a stick. It could be even lower than 1200. Unless someone has some better numbers. Wonder if I called BMW would they tell me?

Why not go for the SMG? I hear good things about it, and you get those cool f1 pedels on your steering wheel. ;p

Now I feel like the my new to me (Fully loaded E86 M w/8K miles) is not as rare as the (fully loaded E86 6 speed 3.0si w/13K miles) I sold to get the M. Now I'm thinking I made a mistake
