Front Bumper Trim Question

Hi All,

I bought my Z4MC in April and noticed the left side of the bumper cover was loose at the time. It finally started to sag noticeably and I decided to see what was up. I ordered a replacement clip figuring that was broken.

Yesterday, I pulled the bumper trim and found more damage than I was expecting. I guess the car was in a fender bender at some point. The trim clip did indeed need to be replaced but I also found the piece that the bumper trim attaches to along the bottom, below the fang, was broken. This is the piece that the bumper trim attaches to from the bottom with 3x screws and 4x10mm bolts.

So now I need to get this replaced but can't find the piece on realoem. Does anyone know the part number for this piece?

Thanks!

John

If it is part 7 in the above its under wheel arch trim

I had to replace both sides on my non m due to bottoming out by the previous owner
Not sure if the m coupe has the same arrangement.

Thanks! That was it. The M Coupé does have the same arrangement but a different part number. I didn't recognize the part because I only had a piece of it. I don't even think I have to remove the bumper trim to replace this piece.

After looking at the part in detail, it does look like more of an effort. So I'll have to pull the bumper trim off again. Sigh ...

Yes it all ties together, the filler, bumper cover and the big tray under the engine.

I just did this replacement yesterday. You have to pull off the bumper cover, the under-engine tray and the shroud behind the oil cooler. All easy to do.

I should add, I did the right side. Left may be slightly different. The left side also has a sensor plugged into the bottom of it that might also be damaged...

The part arrived from ECS yesterday. I'll probably attempt the replacement this coming weekend. It is the right side cover so it should be a little easier per dschultz. Thanks for the info on what needs to come off by the way. This should tighten things up nicely.

Sounds about right, iirc the sensor is for outside temperature
