I'm not able to find the fuel rail part number that has a T with a valve in it towards the top of the cylinder head, where all the steam escapes (is that PCV or ICV or something like that)
Later model production of E46 M3 also have this connect to the PCV

I can't wait to see what was the problem and if they fix it for real.

Because back in 2009, they were having the same issue on the CRF500 kit on Earl/Palantirion's car (bimmerfest forum ) and were sure it was heat related.

Confirm fault with CFR525 kit.
Flaw only in low outdoor temperatures (carburetion?) despite increased oil and water cooler.

No longer happened since I deleted the kat.

You may be reading the exhaust gas temperature probe? Kat = Cap?

You mean the catalytic converter? In headers and section 1 too?

My Z is a European model without catalyst in headers.
I deleted the only catalyst present in the section 1 with front pipe Supersprint (http://www.supersprint.com/en/IT/pro...2i___06__.aspx).

Well I have no cats and still have the limp . Talked to Roman today and he says the fix they implemented was installing a true vacuum pump for the brake booster system . I don't understand why this works when placing a check valve does not ???? Anyway it HAS NOT been track tested yet , so I'm pretty skeptical at this point . They installed it on the EAS shop car . I hope they really beat on it like I do to see if this works lol .

Ok! Then mine is a randomness. I had thought of exhaust gas temperature sensor with inconsistent readings with ecu.

I'm stumped too. VF Kit 570 has vacuum pump? I don't think so. Because they have no limp mode?

If loss of brake boost is what's causing the limp mode, whether it happens or not would be a function of whether you're out of the throttle and under vac enough to keep up with the vac the brakes are using.
I think that could vary quite a bit depending on the nature of the course, and driving style.
If you heal-toe or trail brake you may be consuming vacuum faster than you're creating it.

Sounds like it's at the hairy edge between fine and limp mode.
Lifting just a fraction of a second earlier or later at the end of a straight could be the difference.

I'm dusting off this two year old thread to see if anyone found the limp mode solution.

I had this same issue and it got my attention as I can see a crash resulting from this. Gmd2003 my car is NOT FI and you've described what has happened to me to a T.

I too thought it was heat or possibly fuel related but I think it's vacuum that's part of the problem (or should I say a lack of vacuum). My car had seen several hard track days without issue but it wasn't until this last track day that I started to heel toe shift that this issue began to occur. My point is that between high engine loads, to heavy braking (with HT downshift), and then back to wide open throttle there's very little vacuum available.

Anyone ever figure out a solution for this?

My issue was FI related and was due to undersized injectors .
