Fuel Door Will Not Open?

So today I go to the gas station and try to fill up and the fuel door will not open. I take the rear cover of the right side of the lamps off and I do not see any manual release button as the manual describes. Can anyone offer help?
I have a 2007 BMW Z4 Coupe 3.0si with 60,000 miles on it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you lock/unlock the doors can you hear the latch in the fuel door click? Try cycling the lock-unlock a few times and see if anything releases.

As already stated, first ensure you have the vehicle unlocked, as the fuel door does lock when you lock the car. If you still have no luck, here is a picture of the fuel door release (mine is a 2006 3.0i) - its under the carpeting to the right - just pull carefully.....

Hi Greg,
Thank you very much for your reply and the picture. As it is very late now I will have to try in the morning, what happens if the previous owner has broken the green tab, anyway to try and manually get it open then?

Even if the tab end it broken there should still be the green wire part to pull on. You'll have to pull the interior away to get to it. I think you just need to make sure the doors are unlocked and the gas door will open up fine.
