it was pretty easy, i earthed it with the screw hole in the photo and and got the positive from an ignition live in the mirror housing (i believe its for the rain sensor, so only gets power when u turn ur car ignition on)

heres a link for a tutorial, its very easy.
http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewto...p?f=31&t=73905

also the converter i got was a 12V > 5V micro USB converter (i originally ordered a MICRO USB and it didnt fit)
this is what i got: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3612452530...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

i hope that helps and thanks for the nice comments guys, progress still slow due to holiday next weekend but should resume after that

Nice! Great job modding your car. Makes me feel sad. I've been neglecting mine. I haven't done anything to it in over a year.

had enough of the poor light output from the standard Halogen lights so decided to upgrade to some 55w HIDs in 6000K

removed light and gave them a good clean and dry out:

reflector lamp removed to allow better cleaning etc:

stripped down for a good clean:

mounted the ballast on the inside, in this area:

rough location of all wires etc when fitted and replaced:

finished light output:
Top = standard lights/bulbs
Middle = standard lights/upgraded Osram night breaker bulbs
Bottom = 55w HID kit with 6000K

Amazing car man, colour matched roll bar covers are gorgeous. I just swapped back to stock from those springs back to stock though. Roads around me suck. But boy does it change the car for the better.

Enjoyed reading your thread and seeing the progress. Your Z is beautiful!

Hows the ride with the new suspension?

How much louder is your new exhaust?
