BMW Z4 E85 Rear Fog Light Activation Help

Hi,

I recently bought an 04 Z4 3.0i. A long time ago I got a Euro Light Switch Module part: 6953037 that has the rear fog light button to activate rear fog lights. Since my car is US it doesn't have the option to activate the rear fog lights. I know the Euro switch stores odometer readings. I don't care about sacrificing the automatic headlight option as I am used to manually switching on my headlights. How would I go about programming this module to activate my rear fogs, writing the odometer. What software would I use because I doubt PA Soft 1.4 would let me recode the LCM.

The coding part is probably the easier thing. I would think the odometer is more complicated so you don't get the mileage tamper dot. I have no experience with this but know people that attempted it and it failed.

I read you take the LCM apart and swap parts around to get the fog button to work without needing to copy the mileage, but I've never done it. I was looking into because I was considering adding LED mini projector front fog to my Z4MC, which I would need a LCM with a front fog light button, though never went through with it.

Do you live in an area with a lot of fog? We get some fog where I live, but not too often where I'd need rear fog lights. I see people driving with rear fog lights on even without any fog, it's pretty annoying.

Process is generally something to the effect of

Change the mileage to 0 with PASoft
Load up NCS Expert, read your FA from your AKMB module
Write that FA to the LSZ, write your VIN to the LSZ, default code your LSZ
Go back in and flip whatever parameters are relevant for rear fogs.

I live in Philadelphia. I do go into an area in the night for a nice cruise that sometimes becomes foggy. I would turn off the rear fogs otherwise in normal situations.

The FA are the actual option codes (i.e. FA code S696A = DVD changer) which needs to be written to the VO (Vehicle Order) when adding a new option. The LSZ will have a variety of FAs depending on the options.

I see S5AAA Rear fog light is an option here. I'll try it out.
