There's no belt-driven hydraulic pump that's constantly running. This allows the car to become more efficient at the cost of road feel. I believe the increase in gas mileage is the main reason BMW has started using electric steering on most of its vehicles.

Ok,

I had forgotten that aspect. Though I think the PS pump only consumes approx. 1HP.

Yeah I honestly don't think the electric steering helps Z4's peak hp much at all

1 hp is probably right. It isn't much at all; I'm just saying it's there.

Here's something I found on the internet, so it can't be wrong! (sarcasm)

"One of the advantages of electric power steering is that it eliminates the power steering pump, which can use as much as 8 to 10 horsepower under load"

Dynapack is a dyno that connects directly to the hubs. My #'s are not off. They are up to par; along with the average stock S54 output.
Dynojets are desirable because there's apparently less room for altering the dyno setup to read higher figures. But I've also heard otherwise, and it's an ongoing debate. But at the end of the day though, dynos are meant to be just a point of reference. So as long as you stick to the very same one you start with throughout the modification process, you're golden
Consistency is always key.

Interesting- sound logic about the consistency

I absolutely love the Volk TE and LE series. I personally own 3 sets currently
Trying to sell one of them (LE37's non-M fitment) cuz I'm not using them anymore.
