Finally installed ZHP Knob (Before/After)
I finally got around to installing my ZHP knob. What a difference!
I've never seen a true before/after shot of the ZHP knob on, so I figured I'd post one up. The height difference doesn't seem like much, but with the extra weight and the lower height, it truly makes things too easy! |

Having the lighted knob, I can say that it was great in the e36, that car is REALLY dark at night.
The Z on the other hand, has those orange LEDs near the map lights that are always on with the headlights, and those illuminate the knob pretty well. |

Looks good. I personally like the Alcantara one 10X's more but this is a great OEM option.

I tried the ZHP but my hands are too big for it; my fingers were grabbing part of the cowl. But I liked the weight. Can anyone recommend a weighted knob in the OEM size?

Good shots of your knob, Kyle
I switched to the performance one, doesnt 'feel' as comfortable as i remember so i'm going to give that perforated one a shot (and explore options for a perforated ebrake unit that may fit from another platform).

I just got the zhp knob for $75 on ebay, do not care if lit. If you have the leathetec center console you are now way to high. I removed the leather top and just laid it on the center console and it is the right height. Will figure a way to secure eventually. Big improvement

I looked but only found ones that had an attached leather boot, so i'm going to take a closer look at the one on the ladies E90 and see if looks like it could be seperated from the boot without fuvking it up, we'll see.

Nice upgrade. My knob is looking worn (though I'm OCD with cars)... maybe I'll pick one of these up.
