What type of dyno?

Also, I wouldn't mind doing the baseline before / after ECU tune... but don't our cars require some amount of miles driven before it adapts to the new tune?

The shop use DynoJet 224x according to their website. This looks like a Corvette shop recommended to by my Indy.

Here is the link.

My understanding is you'll see immediate gain from tune. It will have little more gain after adaptation.

I've already ran too many dynos for my car, and since I haven't done anything of significance, I'm going to save money on this and put it towards track days

I'm down to come out and check out everyone's cars though if you can get 15 or more cars together

I'd be interested in a dyno, but only after the car has had time to fully adapt so I can see my final number. I'd like to do before/after evolve tune... but too many expenses and it's starting to add up.

I'm signed up for Sunday July 8th Laguna track day with CityTech if anyone's interested in tagging along.

I think we can work something out with them. It looks like not much interest so far. I thought it is a good idea to dyno before and after the tune. That is the recommendation in case Evolve need to fine tune it.

I'm interested, just not right now, as it's prime track season (which gets my $$$s a the moment).

Sorry--I think it's a good idea in general!

Track events are definitely more fun. Maybe I'll bring this back in a few months. I'm going to get my car dyno before the tune.

I agree, ideally I would've done an original baseline dyno, then another after headers, and a final one after tune. But with tune + inspection coming up really soon (plus possibly pedals because I can't help myself) I'm already spending way too much

Having two sets of numbers from two cars with euro headers and cats would be great to see. Just have to convince marinb and we can also get numbers with welded on O2s to see if the cats make a difference.

I'm pretty easy to convince. If there is a day everyone is going, let me know and I'll try to make it.

I've got Fabspeed headers, cats with relocated O2, 4.10 gears, and evolve tune soon to come. I'm really interested to see the torque numbers with the 4.10's. =)

The gearing won't show up on the dyno unfortunately. But you definitely feel them when you drive because essentially you're up higher on the rev-band faster, in comparison to setups with "longer" gearing.

Hijacking this thread, anyone know of a good shop that can update our ECU? From what I hear, all "tunes" are just tweaking some values/tables in the ECU, it's not all new software (this is why all tunes are "adaptable" because they're using the bmw software that adapts). So for this reason it's probably a good idea to get the latest version of the ECU firmware before doing the tune. All dealerships around here seem to suck, but maybe someone "knows someone" (looking at you gferil).

And nevermind. Found someone at work that has the complete codebase and is going to update me for free. Which will update not only the DME but every other firmware module (lights? windows?) who knows. I'm happy
