Stand-alone engine management system Upgrades for Z4M
There is a complete solution for the adapter/loom/wiring for Z4M?
AEM/Ecumaster/Haltech has E46 M3 support, not Z4M. |

It's the usual "there aren't enough Z4Ms" reason IMO, the unique S54+MSS70 combo is why I'm thankful that Severn is around with stock ecu tunes. |

Wiring diagrams for making the 70x-series AEM ECU work with the Z4M are in my build thread (here), but mine is an off-road-only build so I didn't try to retain factory gauges or anything. I know it can be done, because AEM's plug-and-play E46 M3 setup did, but I didn't do that last bit of work to make the 70x speak CANBUS to play nicely with the gauges. I am happy to share the tune currently loaded in my 708 as well, it is emphatically unsafe to run anywhere other than onto a trailer and to your local dyno because 1) I haven't finished dyno tuning it yet; and 2) my engine is not stock; but it starts, idles, revs, and drives well enough to get you started. |
