My M Roadster just hit 115K!

Getting ready for another 1500 mile road trip! No worries what so ever and she'll be driven hard!!! Love this car! Probably the last "newer" BMW I'll own after 17 yrs. of BMWs. Will be having a stroked s54 built when I hit 150k. Can't wait........just thought I'd share

I'm at 119k. You're gonna catch me soon.
Things what broke (not including "normal" maintenance like brakes, shocks, FCABs, etc.):

Camshaft bolts
Camshaft exhaust hub
Timing chain guide
(All obviously designed on a Friday after a long lunch)

CPV
(Questionable choice of O-ring material)

Alternator
(I suppose it had a good run)

Awesome! Scheduled maint. up until 58K which is when I got her. Old school BMW maint. since then. Never had a problem. Never left me on the side of the road and I drive some serious back roads. Always warm up fully before getting on it(critical in my book). I did have my vanos rebuilt and upper timing chain guide replaced just for piece of mind. But nothing has ever failed on me. Pretty good for an 8k rpm screamer!

Hey StickMon!

Yep, I know you're a bit ahead of me! I'm working on it! I think it was one of your threads that motivated me to have my vanos rebuilt before something happened. I also did the CPV O-ring when I did the euro headers. I have a fuel pump/filter on the shelf now and all rear end bushings next but car is still rock solid!

Are you doing the "Epic Southwest" trip that "m3dragon" organized in June? Just hoped that my MC can make it to 100k without major issues

Not sure if I'll make that drive but I may try. I've done the Tahoe drive with those guys and had a great time. I'm headed up to Laguna Seca for a few days for the Grand Prix and then Tahoe and home again. Something I look forward to all year!

Yeah...I did the Redwood and Mammoth/Yosemite trips with them last years and had a great time as well. That's why I'm looking forward to this longer drive in June Hope to see another Z4 if you can make it

Fantastic, that's my plan as well. None of the newer BMW's interest me in the least. I'll drive this Z4M until it turns to dust, and then I have some options. I'm a big JDM fan, and pretty soon incredible cars like the MKIV Supra and R33 Skyline (RHD of course) will be able to be imported into the USA (25 year limit). You can already get the R32s, but I want to wait until the R33 as I have always dreamed of owning that car. By 2018 you'll be able to pickup a MKIV Supra Twin Turbo, which would just be a hoot to own again.

I'll snap a couple pics the next time I pull her out. It's pouring down rain here in SoCal at the moment!
