E92 M3 hood vents on Z4

I got a new mod idea for my Z4 Supercharged
I will try to mount the E92 M3 hood vents on my Z4M hood, what is the opinion on that?

Heres a picture with the vent not mounted and not painted

Depending on placement, and paint/carbon finish. It can look great or tacky.

I'd rather see a functional scoop option other than the Varis

i think it will ruin the lines of the hood, other than being functionally unimportant.

The E46 and E9x both have "power dome/bulge" design elements that make the vents look appropriate. But with just our "veins" they'll look odd.

Don't do it. Even if the paint and finish comes out flawless the wart will look ugly on your long smooth hood. (That sounds nasty when I say it outloud.)

But every time I see the faux vents on the sides of Chrysler 300s, lowered Chevy tucks, old Buicks, even OEM ones like on the new Buicks I gag.

The chances of this coming out 1000% flawless and perfect is slim, since you'll be cutting a hole in a piece of metal. Plus you're going to have to work around the undersides folded layers.

I think it's a good idea... not to do it. What is the reason for wanting to add them? Just looks, or are you really trying to remove/add air to the engine compartment?

It's your car so have fun with it. Having said that I would be a solid no for that mod. I think the cars have a simple classic elegance and I hate to see it messed with.

maybe if you could find an alternate hood from a wrecker on the cheap, and try it out on that.

Thanks for comments
I think it will be cool with these vents, they aren`t that big, so when painted in car color they will not interfere with the lines( I think ). The black meshing is also the same as in my M bumper.

Someone have to try it

I know many at this forum love the Varis hood, my opinion: I hate it. So I trying to do a cleaner mod with BMW OEM parts.
