Looking to buy a used Z4 around the Chicago area

Hey guys,

I've been looking for a used Z4 for about a month now and have had no luck I'm currently in the market for a used Z4 near the Chicago area (I'm about 30 to 40 minutes north of chicago). I have about $12,000 ~ $14,000 max to spend, and I'm hoping to buy a used coupe or hardtop with either SMG or automatic transmission. If you're selling one and reasonably near me, I'm willing to drive out and meet you in person if you'd like to.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but unless you want a coupe with +100k miles, that price range is probably $6-8k too low to search for a z4 coupe anywhere in the US.

He's totally incorrect. Go on Autotrader and you can find multiple cars that are in that range with 50-60K miles on them.

I don't want to argue but I went online myself to check 500 miles around Chicago as well and found only 14 ads total and not one was a coupe on Autotrader. Only 06-08 3.0i or si found in roadster form.

Sadly, I've been having a lot of trouble trying to find a coupe. I've tried literally EVERYTHING.. I was thinking of getting a 2003-2005 model and just adding the hardtop if I can find one for the right price, since hardtops are like $2,000 including labor from the dealer, and I can't find anyone else selling one reputably

Coupes are a lot rarer than the verts. People didnt buy a Z4 back then because they wanted a coupe, they bought it because they wanted a convertible.

A guy on here with the screename -c- lives near me in Naperville and told me a few weeks ago he was selling his silver 2006 3.0. He offered me the hard top, not sure if it is still available. I might be selling my 2005 3.0i automatic Z4, just found out we have a baby on the way. Lowish miles(49k) for a 2005 and lots of extras but $14,000 is not even in the ballpark I am affraid.
