This exhaust on a z4m...

I've looked around and am not impressed with any of the aftermarket exhausts (outside of the $3-4000 capristo and a few custom jobs). Unsure as to whether or not this would mate to a Z4MC. I know there would be variances in the exhaust note(due to engine characteristics, piping, and the bi-turbo) but what do you guys think? I think it would sound great at 8k.

The first 19 seconds are sh!t...afterwards is what I'm refering to...

Wont sound like that on a M , it sounds like 80% turbo spool and 20% exaust.

Different strokes, I suppose, but the first 19 seconds (actual exhaust "burble" that sounds V8-ish) sounds way better to me than the rest which sounds like typical rice-rasp. If it's that rice-rasp you want, you can find it on any poorly made exaust.

Was referring to the guy punching it sporadically, at 19 sec he goes to 7k. Maybe its my speakers. I have only online videos to go by, but it sounds deeper and not ricey/raspy, than Eissenman(sp) and a few others...

If I remember correctly the E89 has some kind of rev limiter for a short moment right after you turn on the engine. It only allow you to rev to 3k or so. That would explain the first 19 secs of the video.

As for aftermarket exhausts for the Z4M, there are many choices. Do you want loud or quiet, with or without burbles, with or without rasp? Do you not care about weight-saving, or want to save a little bit of weight or a lot of weight? And what's your budget?

Lets see...louder than stock esp. at WOT. IT'll be a DD so Zero drone. I'm not so much concerned with weight savings. Burbles?? Do you mean popping sounds when letting off of the accelerator? If so, not really a factor. Not a fan of raspiness at high rpm. Budget about a grand. Is there anything comparable to the capristo(for less$)? Check out the segue at...1:20 and 2:55 pure sex! And yes I know its a 3.0si...

LOL this reminds me of the guy on bimmerforums that wanted to intall an E9x M3 exhaust on his Z4M to get the same sound as the V8.

Different engines and setups - you cannot get the same sound. I'd love for my car to sound like a V10 M5, but im not putting an M5 on my car.

I totally understand this fitch...I posted because I figured you and the others would be able to help me. Granted there are very few options which is why I wondered if someone could shed some light on the subject. Having owned a few vehicles with I-6s...they don't vary too much...

I much prefer the Eisenmann Sport on an M car to this. Granted, I'm biased, as that's what I have. There's nothing much better than cresting 4,000rpm coming out of a corner in 2nd at WOT with the Eisenmann, except maybe the sound when the engine and the exhaust is cold (60F or below) and the computer blips the throttle up to 1500rpm or so to warm it up.

Love my Rogue Engineering exhaust.
Really deep, has a nice burble on decel, cool hollow sound cruising around 3k and opens up racey up top.

Starting it up in the basement makes the entire house shake :P and the echoe and sound of just idling is amazing.

How about this one on track. It's the hayward and Scott exhaust - what do you think?

Actually emailed H&S a week ago regarding US distributors. None, so it'd be a few Franklins s/h. Who knows may go that route or RE Diablo...i dunno.
