I am hoping to pick one up later this year. Have you checked out any of the reviews at m3forum.com?

As far as I know it is... shy of the extra intake down pipe that goes to the front bumper. Don't know if the aftermarket versions have these tho... You also need to get an Alpha N tune to make them work which is $1k - $1.5 K. Not a cheap mod for the gains ( which are minimal )... But DAMN would it be cool ! hahahaa

I'm def gonna get one of these as well when the opp presents itself...

Yeah, $1-1.5 K ON TOP of the $3-4K for the parts.... for... mayyyyybe... 20 hp... mayyybe..... hahahahaha

To make it a really worth while mod, you need to do cams and headers as well. Even then, from what I hear, you'd be hard-pressed to get 30-40 more HP total above stock with all 3 mods.

So let's see here.... $5K CSL intake & Alpha N tune, $3K Stepped header / section 1, $1200 Cams plus who knows how much for installation.... That's close to $10K . Ouch.

That's why people are looking at SCs...

But DAMN is a CSL intake cool !!!!!

Okay guy's it's not just an intake it's a whole new plenum. And you don't need Alpha N to make it work, check out bimmerworld.com. They have one that keeps the maff so you don't need the Alpha N to make it work.

It is 3 grand for the CSL air box. Ebay headers are $250 and cams/rockers are 2 grand at turner motorsport. So really you can cut your estimate in half, more like 5 grand.

Yeah, I'm gonna get a CSL intake airbox and accent that with Ebay headers. What's the point of just using the MAF set-up as well ? Just get a Gruppe M if you're gonna go that route and save the $2200.00.

Do you know how to install rockers / cams ? 80% of the guys on here won't even change their own CDV valve. You gotta be more realistic with prices... things are ALWAYS more than U anticipate.

Hello guys,
I want to go down that road (CSL intake, cams, full exhaust, alpha N), but I can find nobody that offers the damn alpha N for this car! I am expecting an answer from ESS. I think that is better to ban the MAF sensor as anybody with an M3 suggest that it transforms the car in terms of response and cam number choices.
Does anybody know anything about a tuner with Alpha N available?

I believe that there's a couple places. I know Bimmerworld does something as they have 3 different versions of their CSL intake set-up. Also CA Automotive does something as well I believe. You could prolly call and ask VAC Motorsports as well and see what they offer...

I haven't fully done my research on who to go through yet, but I'd prolly start with Bimmerworld.

Yes it can be done. Look to spend roughly 5,000 Euro for the box and software. PM me if you want to pursue it. I was going to do it, but decided on SC'ing the car instead--more power for less money.

We do have Alpha N software for the Z4M.

It comes free with the purchase of the CFR series supercharger

You didn't mention labor on your price range so I didn't on mine. There is nothing wrong with ebay headers. I don't see why everyone is so against them. The tech that installed them on my car said they want one easier than many name brand headers he has installed over the years. If you want to spend thousands of dollars on headers when you could spend a few hundred for basically the same thing go ahead.

The benefit of the CSL air box is that it directs the air much better than the stock one does. Just getting the Gruppe M intake will not address this problem. That is why I wouldn't go with the Gruppe M. But everyone has different goals and plans for there cars so this is no right way to go.
