As far as the seatbelt goes, maybe it's the angle of the seat???

1. Squeaky dusty pads.
2. Creak when I drive over bumps with the top down.
3. DOT mandated orange reflectors on the front bumper.

Oh and the fact that it turns other drivers into maniacs...just the sight of my car turns kids with "moded" neons to act like it's the indy 500 on city streets.
Really? I find that with the ///M apart from the Porsche's and other M's and the occasional 330 that doesn't know I have an ///M I don't get any competition.

Very different coming from an X3 or a 330Cic, where every Infiniti wanted to race. With the ///M the Infiniti's don't even try.

I will say that the CLK 320 this morning that wanted to have a go, didn't see what he had coming...

Well it works for my iPod.

The reason why its so small though is because Z4's have knee airbags. I'm thinking they decided to throw them in there at the last minute, hence for the half assed glovebox compartment.

Rattle

The number one thing I hate about my M Coupe is the valve rattle between 3000 and 3300 RPM. BMW says it is a totally normal function of the Vanos system.
The problem is that this RPM range is the most common for highway speeds of 75 to 85, so the rattle seems to always be there.

Other than that, my 330 HP go-kart is a blast!

It should be a rattle...maybe a slight vibration...

I guess I'm extra sensitive to the MC rattle because my daily driver is an 06 750Li. If you have ever wanted a dead quiet ride, this is your car.

Well...I still think the word rattle is a bit strong...while I was driving mine today, I was checking for some of the noises people on the board have been complaining about...in the 3000 rev range I get a little humming from the vanos, but it's definately not something that you can feel through the steering wheel or the gas pedal. No noises from the LSD either except from the wheels trying to get traction on the wet roads around here...

By rattle I'm referring to noise only. There is no vibration or other noticeble defect except for the tapping of the Vanos. It sounds like my old MGB I drove in college whenever I was late on its weekly valve adjustment.

Here's what I'm talking about:

http://bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173044

The only problem is I hear it through each gear as it goes through the specific RPM range.

I think the key fob has to be the number one agreed opon complaint, Bmw says it is a safety feature

Overall. I am very please with the car after 8 months, I think my main complaint, and I dont think this has been mentioned, is the lack of a limited slip differential. WTF, BMW stopped putting these in any cars without the M/// badge in 85?

Oh...and I have already had to replace the passenger cup holder.

2nd gear grind more than anything. Very embarrassing when taking people for a spin. NAV sucks too.

the lack of side support from the standard seats - makes track driving "interesting"

run flat tyres

nothing else that really bothers me, although perhaps a few more (small) storage compartments would have been nice

So true! I didn't realize how bad it was until I got my M! Now I can't imagine going back to those seats.

even the VW Polo GTI I tested had great seats which provided great support for the shoulders during cornering... much safer when you are doing some fast driving as it makes you much more a part of the car rather than sliding around on the seat

I've gotten used to bracing myself in my car now, after several track visits, but it's still distracting sometimes.

I thought about perhaps getting recaro seats, but then I lose the seat heating

I guess this is the downside of getting this 2nd hand car
