There is a grey car with Imola Red interior in Hawaii with 40k miles for $27k! Just have to ship it to the mainland! http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/ctd/3350670254.html I'm getting ready to make an offer on a private sale long distance car. Had a friend who is head of QA at an auto manufacturer check it out for me in person and drive it, and things sound good. It has a highway-speed vibration so the tires are possibly flat-spotted from the car sitting a lot, or maybe just not balanced. They probably only have one summer left in them anyway. The car has also only been viewed in the rain and all the pics are overcast. The owner said he's taken it through automatic car washes (!!!) so my biggest concern is paint swirls. I just have no way to confirm. Not looking forward to negotiating... the worst part. He's asking more than I can afford, plus I'm dealing with an unfavorable exchange rate.

Hey, thanks for your reply. I was very close to just PMing you, Lol. I'm on my way down to socal to check it out. I'm looking for that black on black on carbon trim. I think you should definitely see it in person if you are buying long distance. Sometimes the travel is worth the car, and sometimes it's not. |

Hey Rusty, how do you like those carbon grills? Do they hold up well? My 08 M3 had these and they looked like crap after a year or so. Went back to OEM.

I can't really afford to fly out to look at a car and then turn around and leave it there. Only if something is really wrong. Having owned my share of garage queens, to be honest, it's not a big deal to me if this car isn't pristine. (I don't even have a garage to put it in at night... blasphemy, right?) I know it has a few rock chips, curb rash and a scratch in one of the M badge's colors (weird). Just so long as the price is fair... I want to drive and enjoy it, and not worry too much. Tigermack, looks like you have an excellent candidate on your hands!

Stormrunner, they are over a year old, and so far I see no problems with them. As they say: "So far, so good."

So, thinking about it, I decided to posit here for anyone else that would like to research it: 5UMDU93406LL93364 Going by memory it was around the 360th produced and one of about 140 that were produced over the life of the Z4 M coupes that had the Apline White with the carbon weave dash, black leather and no navigation. I could be wrong (off slightly), but that's my recollection. |

If I had the patience with black cars, I would go for it just because of the mileage. Great find!

Not sure if you'll see this or not, but did you end up selling your car? I see that you unloaded the exhaust, cover, etc. If not, I'm in Portland and would love to take a look. I don't use this forum so can't PM, but you can reach me by email at philjw2000 at yahoo.com. Thanks. |
