Question Widest rear wheel for M Roadster??

Does anyone know what the widest wheel the E85 M Roadsters can handle at the rear? Or, will this fitment work?

19x10.5 ET25

My car is lowered on H&R coilovers.

Also, if it DOES work size tire would you recommend 265 or 275? I don't want to have run into rubbing issues or fender modifications.

THANKS

19 30 275 is what id go with. Check pics of my car, roughly -2.7 degrees of camber in the rear.

you got the max recommended size right, width depends on the tires.. Most can fit 275s or 285s with minor rubbing

Yeah you could probably go wider than 10.5" in the back, but you'll only be able to fit 275s, or 285s AT MOST (unless you do some hardcore fender flaring, or something to that extent etc.)
With only a slight drop from stock, I could only fit 275s in the back without rubbing. And that's with the rear fenders rolled I might add.

So...

Having coilovers dropped 1.5" all around, 10.5 wrapped in 275 will guarantee me rubbing?

no, you shouldnt rub with that setup....considering your offsets will be 25

here is my 19x9.5 et23 with 275/30's dropped about 1.5"

It depends on the tires you use, alignment specs, and possibly even coilover settings. But I'm willing to bet you will NOT rub.

Though I do suggest a fender roll regardless.

but the width of my rim would be 1" wider at 10.5"

Yeah, the 10.5" (one inch extra width), at 20's offsets are a different story. You have to trust me on this one.

Especially with coilovers, lowered, and 275s. It's safer if you get your rear fenders rolled (at least slightly). And run some negative camber in the rear. AND get tires that aren't too bulky.

I'm using Nitto NT05's for example. 275/30/19. The only time it ever rubs the fender liner (black plastic inner wheel arch piece), is @ Laguna Seca turn 6. It's a mid-speed left-hander, with a dip right at the apex. So it rubs on the passenger side just ever so slightly.

but comparing offsets, your setup would only stick out around 10mm more. you would obvioulsy have less inner clearance as well. i would recommend rolling the fender as well, and you should be fine

I think 19x9 +20 fronts have already been shown to work up front, with up to 265-width tire (depending on tire brand and/or model).

However, I'm willing to bet my car on the fact that 11" rear will NOT clear.
My 10.5" +22 rear is technically already sticking out the fender by a tiny bit. And I can't fit anything wider than 275s in the back without rubbing. And that's with rolled fenders and -2.2* camber in the rear, and Nitto NT05 tires sized 275/30/19.

These cars already have a wide aggressive stance, you don't need to blow it out of proportions with 11 inch rears.

Just sayin'

when you say wide aggressive stance do you mean thick rubber just barely clearing the fenders? or do you mean stretch and poke? because if you stretch your tires and add some camber and maybe do some fender work you should be able to pull it off. just depends what you are lookin to do and how much work you can put up with =D

my current setup is 18x9 et12 with 235/35/18 front and 18x10 et15 with 275/35/18 rear. my rear fender is shaved and im running about -3.5 camber front with maxed out caster and -2 rear.

will be swapping to 255/35/18 front and 285/35/18 rear soon. spacers will have to come off

oh and with that 11" rear you will actually have 30mm less inside clearance and 4mm MORE outside clearance than my current setup. hope all that info helps

not sure, i had a 20x10.5 et26 in the rear at one point and it was fine. but thats 12mm more inside clearance and same outside clearance as a 19x11 et32. probably gonna have to do a stretch and poke with the 11" wheels
