Windshield Wipers "Wind deflector"

Do we have wind deflectors on both wipers? Just found that that I have one only on the driver side.

It's there to stabilize the wipers, preventing lift while driving / wiping.

Thank you I was wondering about that too. I just bought new wipers, but they didn't have the "wind deflector", but it looks like I can take it off from the old one... I am going to try to see if I can fit it on the new one, it can of looks naked without it

The reason you have it on the driver's side and not the passenger side is twofold. 1. You need to see better than your passenger. 2. If you've ever driven past 80 mph with your wipers on (without the wind deflectors), you'll see that passenger side works fine and the drivers side is sucking. I'm not sure why it is that way, but it is.

I'm actually surprised BMW didn't fit our Zeds with the newer style blades that come on a lot of other luxury cars. I'm thinking about putting on some Bosch Icons or Trico Neoforms once my original ones crap out.

+1 on the Bosch Icons
I had them on my other car & they're great.

Another good blade is the Valeo (similar to Icon)
& now Michelin has come out with a similar one, "Michelin Radius"

Bumping an old thread but I bought Bosch replacement blades but the driver side doesn't have the deflector. Can the OEM one be separated and transferred over to the Bosch piece?

The rational is that the icons are lower profile and don't lift like the old style.
Deflector isn't necessary.

AND you just improved your drag coefficient

I actually just ran into this problem, the actual metal 'cage' that holds the squeegee part of the blade has a different cutout making it impossible to swap the little spoiler. so I ended up getting the Bosch singular type blade instead. New blade works great on the UPstroke but when it comes down, it leaves a streak, about four inches wide, right in the line of sight.
I think i'm going to get these instead:

The short answer to your question is unfortunately not. Bosch 3397001584 is a set that contains a spoiler for the driver side however that spoiler is not as pronounced as the OE one. I've been running that part number for a year and when the blade goes bad I'm going back to the factory pieces which I saved. The factory parts kit is BMW 61610427669, however if you want to swap the inserts (which I intend to do) use Bosch 43320 for the passenger side and Bosch 43321 for the driver side.

That's certainly the way it looks to me. The factory blade framework has tabs with holes in them, and the spoiler has clips to slide over the framework and square blocks that line up with the tabs. There are screws going through the tabs and up into the square blocks. Perhaps a tad over-engineered but certainly secure. And as you say, unlikely to easily transfer to another blade.

I just replaced the rubber inserts on the oem blade for @ $10 bucks at autozone thus maintaining the wind deflector. Ecs tuning, turner mtrsprt and bav auto sell the oem blades as well. They're not cheap....

Ditto all of that. I've had Icons on several vehicles. They are very very nice blades. I've never had one lift off the windshield either, but then again I live in PA not Montana or Germany. So let's say they're good for at least 85mph.
