The funny part is that kw v3 vs clubsport are very close in lap times with the advantage of the v3 being daily drive able and with a lifetime warranty

hmmm winning laptimes in cars run down to tens of a second so, seconds on a race track is massive.... the club sports are designed to be used with track tyres.... they have a very different end objective :-) they are perfect for what i use them for, and on the track they are sublime.

Just out of curiosity... what are you bump/rebound settings front/rear?

2 ticks away bump on all 4, stock is 3 ticks from full stiff

4 ticks away front rebound, stock is 6
9 ticks away rear rebound, stock is 12

This is still comfortable

Car is llowered 1cm because thats max height in the front, so you need to lower the rear to keep your car corner balanced and planted.

i run 6 clicks rebound 4 clicks bump.
12 clicks rebound and .75 bump on the rear. This is Kw recommended setup, it feels nice :-)

edit this is on clubsports

Has anyone attempted to Install the swift springs on their KW V3 ?
what rates did you choose and what bump/rebound settings are you using?

I have outgrown a little bit the KW V3 and i have the settings now almost maxed out.
1 click from full stiff on bump compression all round
FRONT 3 clicks from full rebound
READ 6 clicks from full rebound

EDIT: Forgot to add that the car feels pretty stiff with this setup but i still feel that i need it stiffer and planted a little more with an agressive coilover. I am thinking that this is due to the low rate progressive springs. I am reconsidering installing swift springs again.

I was discouraged from doing this, the shocks would no longer be valved correctly for the springs, and the shocks are twin tube so they wouldn't respond as well. This is why I started the Ohlins group buy.

I'd also be interested to know if anyone did it though. If you look on the e46 boards harold at hp auto has sold a few conversion kits.

I followed the same process with clubsports & decided it was best to just sell them, or leave them as is.

kw said to me that they are happy to supply upto a 600lb front spring for the clubsport and the valving is more than capable to deal with this..... He actively encouraged me to try different springs if i wasnt happy with the Stock kw spec spring... which imo is MORe than enough with the Bump/rebound set low.... The clubsport valving setup is imo very nice!! im extremely happy with them, i cant wait to do some more testing with them this season.... they dont feel very DD-able however....

I agree, fronts are no problem, but what about those progressive rears?

I am currently looking into exchanging the front progressive springs with linear 400 lbs.inch KW springs from the clubsport set along with intermediate rings and help spring set.
Thoughts?

the progressive rears are imo not an issue, The even on the CSL cup series over here they run the CSLs with the progressive rear in a race series.... The rear kw progressive spring has an end rate of 700lbs..... it will be interesting to see what ohlins do with the rear of the z4m.....

Yes it will.
If I go with Ohlins, I may just go with swift.

Does anyone know if it is safe to use a 400 lbs/inch spring in the front when the average rate of the progressive is 220 ?

I want to get the Clubsport springs and helper springs but this guy in the customer support of KW is having some problem communicating with me with technical info.
All he says is that you will not feel the difference between V3 damper and Clubsport damper and i am failing to understand why?

I went from stock to KW Clubsport.
It provides better comfort on the normal street driving , especially on road with modulation.
It provides much better control on track driving, I noticed 3 seconds lap time improvement on a 2 minutes typical laptime AND better front tires wear because of the built-in camber plates.
This guy has done both V3 and Clubsport http://www.zpost.com/forums/showpost...2&postcount=15

I have put KW 400 lbs with helper in front and hypercoil 500lbs in the rear on the way along with vorshlag camber/caster plates.

The kit is a kw V3, i hope it will be a little stiffer as the V3 are way way way too soft for MY taste. i wish i went KW clubsports from the start, i would have slapped 450/550 or 550/650, even 650/750 on those.

Ultilmately i should have went with AST shocks valved to specific springs. If anyone interested in my V3 with the changed springs and old ones, slap me a PM, price should be very appealing.

I went with KW clubsport in the end with 500 front 600 rear and vorshlag.

Setup is awesome on the street with the recommended KW rebound and compression adjustment

What specifically do you want to know so that i can help you better ??

I'm considering getting a used set of KWv3 and putting linear 450/550 springs with them. Did you regret going linear? How did the performance compare to before, on the street and on the track?

Did you feel that the dampers were overmatched for the rates, for example you had to have the adjustments all the way up just to handle them (rendering much of the range useless)

For the KW V3 i had to crank it up to match the clubsport springs (400 front, rear progressive)

For the clubsport i kept the recommended settings and the car handles very very well
