e85 Pen Holder

Hi everyone,

I am the new owner of a gorgeous 2003 Z4 3.0i. I am tweaking it in bits and pieces to fit my needs. One thing that it is missing is the pen holder in the cover to the storage area. I would prefer not to have to buy the entire cover just to get the pen holder. Does anyone have one or know where to get one?

My ‘04 has Velcro straps there… to hold “something”…. I use it to hold a charging cable. Looked in Realoem.com and didn’t see anything in “trim” on the parts list.

I looked at info on part#5 (flap) …

It could be part of the various versions of #5

Yes, I think you are correct about it being part of #5. It just seems like such a waste to buy a new “flap” for a small item like that. I may have to rig something to hold a pen.

Btw, my flap also has the Velcro strap. I’m wondering if that was to hold a cell phone?

Why do you think it’s to hold a pen? The shape etc seems off for that purpose…. Whereas it’s seems to be equipped to hold a cable(s) circa 2004 IMO

And both of us have Velcro…. So it seems that was what was provided…. and it will hold a pen 😊

It does appears to be for a pen. I have a pen clipped into it in my Mcoupe and it clips it perfectly in place

I agree that the Velcro half is for something other than a pen but the thinner groove is what I am referring to. It has a clip that is perfectly pen-sized (and that clip is what I am looking for).

I’ll probably use the Velcro side for something else. I haven’t tried to see if the Carly dongle will fit but if it does that will be its new home.

I would suggest discussing with BMW parts dept….. I have the pen holder in my ‘04 in the thin grove as well as the Velcro …. and as neither seem to be mentioned in the parts diagram I referenced.

Realoem used to have a section/diagram on small stuff that the current version doesn’t have that I could see… but delve into it further if you can.
