Picture hosting services?
Gday, just got an email from Photobucket saying they no longer allow 3rd party sites to display images. Any free services you guys can recommend?
Photo bucket wants 50US for its very cheapest plan for a year... Lol they are dreaming!

LMAO - I was just thinking the same thing when I got that email - photobucket sucks ass anyway - all the ad's make it almost unusable.
I would like to see others suggestions too. Case in point below......

I switched from PB to Flicker a while back and like it a lot.

How do you share from Flicker? I tried it once and could never get the links to work, but I am admittedly a moron......

I used PB for years with no issues, but the changes they made with the ads are ridiculous. I just opened an IMGUR account and am trying that service.

Imgur is the best but, for some reason, can't be embedded into most forum posts. That's why I use photobucket.

Edit: Just figured it out! You have to select Share Codes and select BBCodes to get a URL that embeds.

I use flickr since I had a yahoo email.
This is how I do it, there might be a better way. Embed the photo is already in flickr. Just double click on the picture you want to embed and that pictures popped up, you'll see a share icon at the bottom right hand corner. Select that, and select BB code. They'll give you the size you want to display. For this forum, I use medium 600x480 or something like that. Copy that link and insert into your post. Done.

I just posted several pics today on my thread using photobucket. It has lots of ads now and seems to keep crashing or being unresponsive. But I've used it for about 15 years now or so, and it works....but if you are creating a new account, might as well try Flickr.

If you use the photobucket mobile app, you can't view your photos. If you click the thumbnail to view the photo, it'll give you the "Please Upgrade" image.
But if you use a web browser, it will still let you view the photos. To download... From your desktop (not the app), go into your Photobucket account. Choose one of your libraries. When it comes up, look to your right and you'll see under the heading "Actions" a choice to "download album". Click "download album" and it'll ask you to click a box to show you're not a robot...then hit download and it's put into a zip file (this takes some time). Save the zip file to your downloads then copy to your photos. Finally by right clicking the zip file you can choose "extract all" which will spread them all out. |

Think I got it figured out - not as easy as photobucket, but seems to work.
