Just scheduled my annual oil change today. No problems setting it up. And yes, under warranty. I have 7K miles on my car. It is an 06.

As others have stated in this thread - you get a free oil change once a year or at 15k miles whichever comes first. If you paid for an intermediate oil change it has no bearing on when you get a free one - they owe you a free one at 12 months or 15k miles after the last free oil change. I had my oil changed (paid for it) at 5k miles. I then took it in at 8500 miles for the free change - the reset mileage still showed another ~12k miles to go, but the dealership gave me a free one simply because it had been a year...the argument about having to wait until the mileage shows up is only relative to free changes....Hawkeye- you need to challenge these guys...from what you wrote at the beginning of this thread - they should be giving you a free oil change as soon as you hit 12 months or 15k miles since the last free oil change no matter what condition the oil is in.
FWIW - my car is now 19 months old and has 8700 miles.

my oil light went on very early on.... like under 9k probably [yes i drive hard] and the dealer would not give me a full oil change, they just added oil and sent me on my way and now again, my light is on but i have a few hundred miles to go... pretty fn retarded that i have to wait til 0!

Normally they do it a few miles below the designated service...I did it on My previous Z4 3.0 and they changed the oil 200 miles below the specified mileage required... Most BMW engine eat oil and you just noramlly top it off...

The oil burning ain't too bad all things considered. I fill the car up with 7L of fluids during the oil change, and I extract 6L. But then I do my oil changes every 7500km.
