It's the last of the purist BMW's. Not to say that there haven't been some killer drivers since then, just way more tech bells and whistles involved.

Last of the analog sports cars.
It's very possible that the Z4 M is the most modern purist sports car PERIOD. I can't think made after 2008 that compares?

I find it interesting that the M coupes are valued many thousand dollars more then the convertibles even though the convertibles cost more when new. I guess the rarity of the coupes and the supply and demand raises the value. Nonetheless, it's nice to see the value increasing, and not decreasing.

I think your right: boils down to production numbers. Wasn't the coupe-to-roadster (M only) ratio something like 1:3 or 1:4?

I think the overall Z4 coupe-to-roadster ratio (both M and non) is closer to 1:100000000000000000. Though my figures may be a LITTLE off.

In both cases the Z3 M and the Z4 M, the coupes were outnumbered by the roadsters.

The M coupe to roadster ratio is not as high as I thought it'd be. I guess the coupe is just more desirable (no wars here).

Roadster=3041
Coupe=1815
ratio=1:1.6

I am having www.proformanceindustries.com redo my wheels this spring do to a bent rim.
They are going to reshape it and powder coat all four wheels. Their work is amazing!!!

No, pictures don't really portray the color well. It's very metallic/flaky, and it's darker than shadow chrome, but when the sun hits it, it lights up.

Back on topic, it's notable that most forum members own coupes. As if enthusiasts prefer it. No offense at all, as I know plenty of roady owners more enthused than myself.

You forgot one, and it's not trivial - the E85/E86 the last BMW to start with a key. Everything since uses the crappy fob that you insert into the dash, with or without "Comfort Access", which allows you to leave it in your pocket.

I recently considered trading my 2.5 and the values on those have gone up as well. There's a demand out there and good examples are becoming more scarce.

Yea, I noticed that. 20 grand seems to be the average for the ones with a branded title. But i have never seen so many for sale at one time in this area.

I would totally agree.

I just think it's easier to do a roadster if you live in a region where you can enjoy it... or it's purely a weekend toy.

Coupes are generally lighter/stiffer. But that's sort of moot to me. As above, I'd gladly put up with the extra weight if I lived in an area where I could drop the top on a regular basis.

The roadster weighs less than the coupe... 3197lbs for the roadster vs 3230lbs for the coupe.
