how many M rear tires will fit inside convertible cabin?
Anyone ever tried carrying new M rear tires inside passenger seat? I doubt any tire can fit in the trunk. I need to replace my rear tires. I'm not sure to have my tires replaced locally or take it to a shop I like far away that does alignment and tire mounting... he takes his time and does it right.
Appreciate if folks let me know if they ever fit 2 rear stock tires in car whether it's 1 in the trunk and 1 in the passenger seat or 2 in the passenger seat. I like to do this without harming the interior. |

I got 2 fronts in a coupe, so I think the roadster would be good since you can put the top back and lower the passenger window. I did get the two up front, but didn't drive like that, because 1. I couldn't fit the other 2 in the rear and 2. I didn't feel safe.

a 265mm tire can fit in the trunk, one in the passenger seat (maybe 2 skinnier 225mm fronts can fit on the front seat). Bring some sort of seat cover. You could probably also attach a tire on the trunk lid with some tie downs

thanks jophish and roffle.
I just need to carry the two rears, I'm not replacing all fours... thinking of leaving the stock conti's up front and then new two Ventus V12 for the rears. So if I wasn't clear, I just need to replace the two back tires and wonder if I can fit one rear tire in the trunk and one in the passenger seat. Knowing this, I can either order the two rears from tire rack or just buy locally and then have to pay the shop I prefer to do it again...something I'm trying to avoid...plus the shop I like will also do alignment. For SoCal folks... it's JC auto house... very good yelp reviews and I've had Cyrus do the alignment on my 3.0SI and now on my M a few times and he's very dedicated to making sure it's right and that you're happy. That's why I would take the extra fuss of bringing the tires to him and hence the post. Time for a tape measure to confirm things. Anyone else...please chime in. |

Maybe I'm missing something, but if you're buying online can't you just have them shipped directly to the shop? We do it all the time.

dreamingat30fps,
That would be too easy ... I called Cyrus and he said he's not always there and they may ship it back. So I have to bring the tires with me unfortunately. I would prefer the easy route...but no dice. |

I wanted to confirm that I could fit one stock size rear tire in the trunk of the convertible. The Ventus V12 was a tight fit, but fit it did. So the other tire will go on the passenger seat. Thanks for all that chimed in.
