Ticking noise...different than known ticking issue
So I just noticed a ticking noise today that varies with RPM. As soon as I start driving, the noise speeds up and stays at a constant tick. When I slow down, I can actually hear it slow down and then tick slowly at idle. Anyone else ever run into this? I am aware of the other ticking issue and this is not the same.

What motor? I know the N52 has a known issue with this that can be fixed under warranty no problem. What car do you have? Your profile says e92 335i so I'm going to say......HPFP

Sounds like a hydraulic lifter to me. The wife's 335 had the same symptoms one moring and I cured it by taking it on the freeway in 4th and leaving it there on the way to work. The sound hasn't returned, so in a way, forced bleeding of the lifter via high RPM and load.
