for a tight fit is very time consuming. You might as well pick up a tig welder and do it all. |

i was curious and so dug out my old books...
///m coupe = 3230 lbs ///m roady = 3197 lbs 3.0si coupe = 3108 lbs 3.0si roady = 3086 lbs 3.0i roady = 3020 lbs the biggest difference is most likely the weight of the s54 vs. the n52 (i couldn't find the weights for the m54 roadies). truely, the details would also include non-RFT vs. RFT, trans weight, and suspension differences. mostly common sense, but it's still interesting data. @crfine88 this is a wonderful build, and hope you do break that 3k lbs mark!

^ Just the weight of the hatch and support minus the stuff used to strengthen the roadster. . .I believe...

maybe... but the weight distribution front to rear is wonky; coupe vs. roady.
coupe frt = 50.2% rear = 49.8% roady frt = 49.3% rear = 50.7% unless the weight of the folding mechanics in the roady is really heavy on its own, and the fixed roof is very evenly distributed (i guess that makes sense). still... the very leading edge of the roof is on the lateral centerline of the car. i would have expected the coupe to be heavier in the rear.

No radio.
Why keep the antenna? You can't hear the radio at 8,000 RPM anyway. Also, where are you going to hold your beer can?

I also think there is weight saving available in the headlights... =)
keep the main front cover, replace everything else with 2 or one waterproof projector, and mold the back with thin CF. MUHAHAHA
