OEM Wind deflector with black roll bar covers

I want to get the OEM mesh wind deflector. From searching around it seems that you can only get the roll covers with holders in silver.

To keep the black hoop covers, I figure I'll buy an extra set of black covers and modify them (although probably using nuts).

These are the part numbers I have:

1. 54347117745 - Wind deflector kit.
2. 51438040735 - Black cover left 01
3. 51438040736 - Black cover right 01
4. 51438040739 - Black cover left 02
5. 51438040740 - Black cover right 02
6. 54347117751 - Frame Trunk holder

However, looking up the first part number for the wind deflector kit on Tischer says that the part is not found.

Can anyone confirm that this all makes sense and that my part numbers are correct? Thanks!

I had a body shop paint mine and looks great. The problem with just drilling holes for the center piece is that you won't have the middle of the rollhoops piece which I'd assume would affect the performance of the wind deflector.

That's why I'd buy an extra set of black ones. I'd modify the new ones first, take the old ones off, then install new (modified) black ones with the center deflector bits.

My biggest problem right now is it seems I have the part wrong for the wind deflector kit, or tischer isn't carrying it anymore. Anyone have another source of parts that is good and has good prices?

In Belgium you can buy black ones with the holders.
I bought them when installing te oem windschield.
They were rather expensive ... 53€ + 21% tax per part and there where 4 parts (front/back of each cover).
Part numbers are strangly the same as yours ...

That's interesting. At 70+ bucks a pop (front + black) it would be nice if it was pre-drilled instead of having to modify them.

I can tell you they work fine without mounting holes. I installed only the center section on my car(did not want the roll hoop inserts) by placing the brackets against the original roll hoops(they are curved and only fit correctly at one position). Drilled into the hoop and placed the screws. It works great. Very solid installation. You don't have to use the modified covers.

Thanks chickdr that's great info! I didn't realize they fit just right, that will help a lot.

Checking RealOEM there's two parts listed for the front 01:

01 Covering left SCHWARZ 1 51438040737
01 Covering right SCHWARZ 1 51438040738

and

01 Covering left SCHWARZ 1 51438040735
01 Covering right SCHWARZ 1 51438040736

Anyone know what the right part number is?

Also any other good sources of online parts. The deflector is cheapest at bmwpartzdirect.com but they don't have the covers, tischer has the covers but doesn't have the deflector.

Sometimes your local dealer will match prices. Doesn't hurt to ask. Not sure about the duplicate numbers above. Strange....
