CD player is acting up again.
I have a '03 Z4, recently I have been noticing that when I put in a cd, track one occasionally starts off really choppy and doesn't really play well at all.
The dealer recommended to stop playing burned cds which isn't going to happen so... Which brand of burnable cds would be the best (i guess the closest to a real cd) for the cd player in my car? Sony? Memorex? etc... Has anyone used a CD for laser lens cleaning and could recommend which to buy? Thanks. |

Verbatim CDR's are your best bet.
Sadly, unless you can prove to the dealership that your CD Player skips on real stamped CD's, they won't do anything for you warranty wise. They blame burned CD's as the culprit for bad playback. |

my cd player screwed around on me many times. i would get cd errors, choppy play and sometimes it wont even eject the cd. it would say NO DISC.
it would play CD-R's 0.5 out of 10 times and will not play mp3's. as far as real store bought CD's they would work 3 out of 10 times. i took the car to the dealer and LUCKILY the cdplayer gave the mechanic the same problems i experienced. usually things wont work for me but when i take it to the dealer magically it works. conclusion... dealer ordered and will be replacing and installing a new headunit as well as air vent above it. im hoping i will be able to play CD-R's MP3's and all that good stuff. but if it still doenst work, then atleast i have a brand new headunit and air vent.:rocks: |
