Just got hit
Just got backed into by a Dodge Nitro in traffic. Who really decides reversing in traffic is a good idea. WTF.
Both kidneys are broken, bad scratches on front bumper, and bumper is crooked..... FML |

WOW man! Same EXACT thing happened to me a couple months ago!!! Was sitting at a red light and the lady in front of me throws it into reverse and smacked me.
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=473040 My hood is still not perfect. The center sits up slightly higher compared to the left and right sides. I'm currently fighting with State Farm for a diminished value loss of almost $4k. The damages alone were about $3600. New front bumper, new kidney grills (paid extra for the carbon fiber ones ) and a new core support! |

My front bumper isn't right after my run-in with a rock at about 5 mph. Over $4k in damages later (bumper, painting, oil cooler, brake cooling ducts, etc.) and 4 trips to the dealer, I decided to look at it myself. The carrier itself wasn't seated properly, so I bought a new one. It turned out the carrier wasn't the cause, but the attachment points were. I finally decided to live with it as-is. Our cars are fragile. Good luck trying to get it fixed.

That stinks!
I've almost had people change lanes into me as I pass them. I think because the Z4 is so low and small it's hard to see. I leave lots of room for an idiot to back up or change lanes. |

Same thing happened to me about 3 weeks ago, at the Dealership!
I was early for my 7:00am maintenance appointment and was second in line waiting for the garage doors to open. Had about 5 minutes to go before the doors opened and the guy in front of me decides to back up! He admitted he wasn't thinking becuase he was on his iphone reading emails and texting!!!!

Driving my Z4 home the day I picked it up, I had a punk in a Civic attempt to change lanes on a freeway and almost take me with him. I was probably in his blind spot, but I was pissed when after he jerked back into his lane and I slowed in mine, he proceeded to take the lane immediately anyway......total douche. He wasn't even trying to exit the highway, just passing the dude in front of him, up the right hand side. Idiot.

If the car is not being seen in traffic due its small size as some folks here believe, then perhaps it may be a good idea to increase your visibility to other traffic by turining on your headlights when you drive in the daytime, or having the dealer enable the Canadian-spec daytime running light feature for you.

it happened to me also long time ago. Please keep the distance when you stop at traffic light and make sure you keep the headlights on when you stop. our cars are low and people are stupid; cant see our cars in back mirror.

I remember the first day I drove the M (also the first day I ever drove a manual), I was trying to get into 1st and instead went into reverse. I didn't get into an accident, but I must have scared the guy behind me pretty badly.

Did the exact same thing with my Z when it was new to me. I was use to an old truck that took some effort to get into first gear.

And the people backing up in traffic are idiots, but there are apparently more of them than you think. I almost got backed into by a F150 while on my R6... now that was scary. Lol they bought a Dodge Nitro, that half-way makes me expect them do to other stupid things as well.
