Installing electric exhaust cutouts

I'm planning on purchasing a pair of RRP 2.5" electric cutouts with down tips. Does anyone know where the best location to install the valves? I'm looking for a "f1 style" sound when I hit the switch. I've seen videos of straight pipe M3 that sounds really good and other sounds too raspy. However I did run my car for a day without mufflers and the Z4M is different even though they both have the same motor (different pipe design).

I'm thinking either before my mufflers or between the headers and secondary cats. What do ya'll think?

well I'm guessing the closer you cut it to the engine, the louder it will be, and the less backpressure you'll get. I'd cut them right after the cats

I've done it, You aren't going to get an F1 sound between the headers and secondaries.

I forget if I did it before or after the supercharger or headers though to be honest.

I might try it again as I'll be making a "modular" first section exhaust.

Before I did the supercharger... not actually like in the intake of the supercharger....
