Large plug on the side of the rear of the oil pan

Guys,

I was in for an oil change at the dealer with the Z4M-R today and here is the exact comment on the receipt …

There is large plug on the side of the rear of the oil pan that looks to be leaking.

I asked the SA and he said the tech's were not familiar with the plug. It does not have its own item number as it is part of a complete oil pan, and there is no guide for service.

I have not noticed a single drop on the garage floor in the last year plus…

Any insight?

Cheers
Colin

Replace it. It's a known issue.

just drain the oil, pull the plug, and reinstall it with some liquid gasket.

Revisiting this.

What sort of tool do I use to remove that plug?
