2004 with Smarttop?

I am going to get a remote top program and like the Smarttop option better than the GapTech beacuse of the added features.

Does anyone have a 2004 with a Smarttop installed? Any issues at all with install? Seems pretty straight forward. All functions work?

Going on my xmas list and wanted to make sure I pick the right one.

Thanks!

Matt

I think as long as you have a power top it should work. Their website doesn' list any certain years or models as requirements. The install is super easy and it can be reversable if need be even with the wire taps. Took me about 30 minutes to install.

I have the smart top on my 2003. If I remember, it took me 20 minutes to install, including going back and forth for tools and beer. Works flawlessly.

If you know how to use NCSExpert, you can code the car so the top will open and close with the key remote. EVERY E85 (from start of production to end) can be coded for this, even though the dealer will tell you it is not possible.

Yes, but softtop operation isn't possible while the car is in motion. These (and other features) are what make the SmartTOP a handy little device for roadsters.

unluky: we have the full range of SmartTOP modules in stock, let me know if you have any questions beforehand.

The in motion is exactly why I purchased mine. Caught in slow traffic when rain started several times and could not stop long enough to let the top up. The remote with the window function has also spoiled me.

Definitely added to my wish list.
I put my top up or down frequently in stop-and-go traffic, and it never stays stopped long enough for me to get the top done before the person behind me starts beeping off.

Ok, just for those of you wondering, the smart top was a breeze to install and the instructions were easy to follow and had great pictures. 45 minutes tops with 1/2 of that time getting the top controller out of the hole and putting it all back in. Works just as advertised and is going to be AWESOME this spring. Nice to drop it when you are approaching the car and also have the remote window control from the fob. Great Christmas present for sure!
