U-haul hitch?

I found this on their website, I think the support brackets should be facing the other way. Then again, website says pic is not accurate. Might be worth a try if I can return it anyway...

so off the top of your head, how does this work, it says max 1000 lbs. So is that max the hitch can pull/hold, or is that max a trailer should weigh? and any idea what kind of trailer would work?

My plans are a 9 foot Harbor Freight trailer hauling a 9 foot semi-rigid inflatable boat. About 300 lbs or so

weight rating... not sure, probably weight of everything connected to the hitch.

I have wanted one for my bicycle carrier. Wonder if you have to notch or cut rear valance to make it fit without dragging ground?

Zstig, I'm guessing you've already looked at this, but you never know:

I had a local bodyshop guy who also welds, weld and install me a custom hitch for about $400. You may want to ask around locally. Search my posts for more info on my hitch if you're interested.

You may need something custom. I would check these guys out too - I bought from them a few weeks ago and was happy with the service and product:
