Just found this on YouTube. That idle seems better then a e46 running alpha N. The two e46 m3's running two different boxes and two different alpha N tunes have an idle the hunts a few hundred Rpm's but otherwise drive flawless. One is making some serious power over 350hp with stock motor.

I thought maybe we can gather to decide which the best airbox, then try to invite the seller for a group buy.

Tune is more important...no point in getting box if there isn't a solid tune available for our ecu.

Yes. But Evolve dry carbon is so pretty.

Depends really how you use your car whether or not FI is logical means to go. On track I would prefer NA as there are more potential issues with FI car... Belts breaking, overheating, limp modes.....

Commenting on the units saying Alpha N unavailable:

There are quite a few Alpha N's for the s54 and most alpha n's are not plug and play. You have full control over fuel, often timing, closed loop etc. You do the tuning and most of the units I have experienced can be done on the street.

This thread is very similar to what is common on the e30m3 and my track car:
CF/FG airbox and alpha N.

Thanks, this is really useful. But what if you got temp sensor and air flow sensor? So you can compensate the work of the MAF?

Evolve can do the alpha-n tune, see here. Lately they've been tuning superchargers from other companies, so it's entirely possible they could tune any of these airboxes, you could contact them to see if they can do it for you and pricing.

Supposedly evolve has an alpha-n tune. CA-Automotive did the UK z4m CSL, and rumor is the actual alpha-n tune was done by evolve, don't know if it's true though. But at least we know ca-automotive can provide a tune.

The CA tune was not done by us at all. Just need to make that clear!

Thanks for the appreciation on our airbox. We have been trying to get a hold of a Z4M and alter the frontal cone to make it fit but supercharger projects are taking up all of our time (yes... S54 is coming).

AlphaN is available. We have not developed it on the stock airbox as it's a little pointless. Once we get an airbox onto a Z it will be very quickly available.

Too late bro, I'm on that list before Sal stated that they are developing the S54 supercharger.

He's not speaking to me though, i have no idea why ...

Strange... the Bimmerworld one, had an option for MAF a few weeks ago, now it's gone.

It said "not recommended" but they had one that didn't require Alpha-N.
(I am not an alpha-n fan, due to it's lacking properties over a MAF system).
http://store.bimmerworld.com/e46-m3-...ons-p1242.aspx

Just like this one http://store.motorsportsconcepts.com...3-z4m-maf.html

I truly wonder what the power difference is, since having a MAF is totally preferable for a street driven car.
