Eisenmann Race Installed
Hi guys,
My Eisenmann Race finally arrived. I had it installed today. Love the sound. Initial impression was a nice throaty straight six sound, but a bit quiet. After driving for 20 miles, it started to open up and I expect it to continue breaking in the next few hundred miles. I didn't notice at the time, but now I look at it, I wonder if the alignment is a bit too low. Depending on the angle it could be ok, or it could be raised just a bit. What do you think? |

Alignment looks too low to me. I'd raise it a bit if it were my ///M. I miss my Eisenmann Sport sometimes.

Nice! The Alignment seems a little bit off. You should try to reallign them so that you have an even Spacing/Gap all around the openning.

Those tips look awesome. Raise them 3/4 inch or so.

No Problem! I am pretty OCD when it comes to such things. I actually went as far as measured and calculated the different between the bumper opening/muffler's tips, split the differrent to get a perfect side to side alignment. I made 3 spacers and used that to get a perfect gap all the way around.

I don't know what the rest of you do to adjust these, I just use a jack to get them a bit higher than where I want them and tighten things up from there. Better way?
Great pick in exhaust BTW. I haven't hear an Eisenmann I don't like on an S6. Wife has the sport on her car (), which is IR as well. Any drone with the "race" version? Sport don't drone at all except for little bit around 2K, which isn't an issue since who drives there anyway? |

Sweet! I'll have to take a look and would love to compare the sound with my Diablos. From the pics, it seems a little low. I noticed that most places don't adjust them high enough and then you end up having to do it yourself afterward.

It has a nice rumble and you will always know your throttle application at all times. At cruising speed with little load and windows up, it's fairly quiet. 2k rpm under load it will resonate a bit but I would not describe it as droning. It took me a long time to decide between race and sport version. So far I love it. It's still in the break-in period. I will post some sound clips soon.

Very nice, I bet the race sound fantastic !!!
I love the tone of my sports but wish they were a tad louder. .....the headers on my bench should look after that though.

I went to my local muffler shop and they put the car on the lift. It looked like it's already as high as it gets without bending anything. I'll have my indie shop take another look later. I'm not sure exactly what else can be done to it.

And you've made sure to... Rotate the flange so the bolts are aligned vertical to the ground, and tighten the top bolt first. Leave the bottom bolt loose until desired height, then tighten bottom bolt.

Yup, too low. It CAN be adjusted despite what they've told you.

Is the Eisenmann a straight through design or are their baffles? I need to quiet my car down - I currently have a magna flow which has no baffles. (SS headers and no resonator don't help...)

I took the car to the indie shop I normally work with, and they were able to adjust the height, just like the tips I got from here. Thanks again. Now it's much better.
A few photos:
