Anyone use wheel dollies?

I was browsing HF and saw these:

I'm wondering if anyone has used these for winter storage. I was thinking of putting my car cover on and then pushing it up against my garage wall to eliminate the dead space between my car and wall. The extra couple feet of space will make it easier to move winter stuff like snowblower, sand/salt hopper, and shovels in and out of the garage.

I guess my question is, are there any CONS to doing this?

As you can see it frees up quite a bit of space to move around the garage.

I don't have much free space to reclaim in my garage, it's packed pretty tightly unfortunately. If I did those dollies would definitely be my go-to.

Pretty ingenious method of reclaiming the space done by Cyclops here. Same idea, different method.

They do work although ones from crappy tire are not the best. A friend used them to store his bass boat and trailer in my office and u can push it side ways but not easily. Weight of Z should be much easier to move.

I know this is probably a dumb question but do these 'lock'?

What is to keep my car rolling out of my garage and down the road like some terrible Benny Hill clip?

LOL, yes of course they do I wouldn't get these though, I was just using it as an example. I'd definitely get a nicer set off amazon if this idea comes to fruition.

I just did some measuring and I might actually be able to roll my Z4 sideways and wrap it around the center support pole in my garage. With the Z4 tucked in the corner, that garage spot is still a decent 16x10 which is plenty for all my winter gear and toys. Actually it's probably big enough for another small car (Audi TT AWD coupe as a winter commuter), but I know the wife wouldn't go for that idea

These are what you want. They're self lifting so you can move the car where you want it and then lower back onto the ground so the car won't roll away on you.

Yikes. I think I'd buy 1 or 2 of those and do the rest with something less spendy.

I have the HF dollies, and love them. I used them to move my 914 around the garage during the rebuild. The hard plastic wheels could be better, but I have never had any issues. I have not had them develop any flat spots when storing the car in one place for a significant period (which is more than I can say about the last brand I used.)

I use these to move my Jagged X RZR In the lower basement garage. When I had two RZRs it was awesome to move them around on the dollies and not have to fire them up and move them around.
